09/7/2014 21:36 | Netley, How about "how not to deramp oil stocks just before they double", does that sound a useful one to you? Really, your timing made me chuckle. | ![]() che7win
09/7/2014 21:30 | Yes, I was just thinking about the review period as well - supposed to be over by end of August if I recall correctly (or you want to set timelines!). They'll need to see how the actuality of getting the mobiles up and running goes before being able to predict with any certainty about the rest of the plans (I believe timelines were given at the AGM for start to finish of mobiles, but the timelines are invariably wrong once put to test in the field), I would really prefer them to do a test real-life mobile before getting a contract so that they can have a better predictive model with more accurate timelines. But I guess it's not about what I want! Anyway, I'm looking forward to next year. I hope mister big will stay and not sell out totally if the share price reaches 125p before then. | ![]() madchick
09/7/2014 21:09 | I still think we have yet to see the bigger vision, that is, how the company intends to exploit their library of leases for maximum shareholder value. We are in a review period, I would like us to come out of it with our 6 plants running as efficiently as possible. The next step will be growing in a measured pace, hopefully with some iodine contracts in place. Some of these days, I would hope we hear about their vision for growth into next year...that involves the mobiles. | ![]() che7win
09/7/2014 20:56 | June was always likely to be weaker than May. Going forward with IO#5 and 6 meant to be better plants than IO3 and 4 we can look forward to 50mt+ consistently from August onwards. Finally, only 16 days to having 6 plants running! 6 months and 25 days late. | monty panesar
09/7/2014 20:41 | Interesting that the chemical reduction tests completed on IO1 are to be repeated on IO3. Any ideas as to if this is due to iodine content in the brine or volume of brine? | ![]() rogerbridge

09/7/2014 15:18 | Briley The Japanese plants in OK working in one area have been running 25 plus and 35 plus years. There are 4 other states that IOF have iodine interest in, but iodine in OK will be around for many decades yet. | ![]() superg1
09/7/2014 15:12 | Thanks engelo, these all seem really good points. Not sure about my great timing, took a pretty big loss on these through the first half of the year. | ![]() brileyloucan
09/7/2014 14:23 | I think the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma is good for another twenty years at least. Water cut rises as the wells age.Marathon says it's wells are good for 20 to 30 years production. There are thousands of wells drilled or planned. Running out of processable water near term is not an issue. imo | mortie1
09/7/2014 14:16 | BL: Interesting question which there are various answers to: First I believe that IOF having a huge number of sites to choose from will with other factors of course have worked out the best ones for longevity. Second I think that it's the life of the SWD that is crucial which (if well chosen by the oil co) will be considerably longer than individual wells. Third are IOF's plans to develop mobile units. These are smaller and cheaper than the main plants, and operate on high ppm low flow sites although can be multiplied up. May be further possibilities with this tech as time goes by. Fourth if the whole fracking industry halted overnight think that IOF would recover by accessing defunct SWDs. Think they have a list already prepared :-) I'll leave others more capable to supplement this :-) I'd add that your timing is brilliant for whatever reason and don't see anything but good news for the forseeable from here, NAI of course :-) | engelo
09/7/2014 13:42 | I've owned Iofina before but sold out about a month ago at 56p to take the short-term loss for tax reasons. I have to wait a month to buy back in or it counts as a wash trade but have a concern about the sustainability of a site in the long-term. The sites are depreciated over 20 years but if the drillers stop drilling in the area as the shale gas has been exhausted won't there be no waste water and therefore no brine for iodine production? I know people have been invested here a lot longer than me and wondered if anyone has a feel for whether the 20 year life is realistic? There is lots of info about the quick depletion of shale wells (over 4/5 years). Clearly more can be drilled but is there a risk of field depletion and then iofina being left in an area with no brine to process? I am very happy to have my concerns dispelled here but have been invested and following this for about 6 months and have not really seen it discussed (maybe because it's not an issue). 09/7/2014 13:00 | Didn't think I'd see the day when we announce production quarter on quarter has doubled and the share remains below 50p. Iodine prices stable as far as IOF is concerned and more capacity rolling out this month, so I've picked some up this morning. | ![]() che7win

09/7/2014 10:49 | Despite the the weather glitch, lot's of positives in today's RNS! - sales, profitable & supply interest. The revelation that they are experiencing some strong interest in long term supply agreements with multiple Iodine customers is very encouraging. With plants 5 & 6 coming soon and pods ready to order let's hope it will not be too long now before Iofina are able to start signing up to some of these guaranteed supply agreements. | ![]() bobsworth |
