Does anyone have access to the Times report that DK is mulling over a bid?

Good luck all 👍🏻

Very nice to read the above from BofA

I took a few more recently and helped my average a touch and would love to see us back in the 300's during 2024, especially if we can get a divi again too!!

Good luck all 👍🏻

Dec 12 - Shares of Royal Mail parent IDS IDSI.L were set for their biggest
one-day gain in over 3 years on Tuesday after BofA Global Research upgraded the stock to buy
from neutral, citing turnaround progress at Royal Mail (RM) and potential upside to consensus
estimates.
"Recovery at RM is progressing steadily: a union agreement has been implemented and the
company is winning back volume share. We are encouraged by this and see the deal benefits
starting to impact the P&L meaningfully", BofA said. Its new price target of 335 pence implies a
35% upside.

I don't know for sure but they have all ran stories recently about parcel delays this Christmas etc etc. The usual seasonal stuff that they like to clog up the air time with.

Good luck all 👍🏻

CWA1,

I think he forgot to put a question mark after his post. Vesa may well be in the process of increasing but they have definitely not announced anything yet.

Anyone else know what the "negative" story on ITV was?

Vesa increased stake

Any chance of a link to that? Last announcement I can see is back on 23/11/23.

Thanks

What was the negative news story?

I just checked the analysts ratings for IDS and one of them has moved from Hold to Buy today. Haven't identified which one yet but will find out asap. Not at home so difficult at the moment.

Nothing like a good negative news story on ITV last night to boost the shares by 5% this morning :-)

RNS from 20 July 2023

DIRECTORATE CHANGE

International Distributions Services plc (IDS) today announces the appointment of Martin Seidenberg as Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IDS. Under the revised structure, Martin will lead the IDS Group and set its strategic direction. He will be appointing CEOs for Royal Mail and GLS responsible for operational management of the two subsidiaries in due course.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was the last announcement on the subject. Still waiting for 2 x new CEOs. He is effectively CEO of IDS, Royal Mail and GLS at this time.

Hi
Who is the CEO of Royal Mail? I am rather confused as I can see a news article that says Martin Seidenberg was appointed CEO in July, but then it says that he must appoint a Chief Executive for Royal Mail, but I cannot see any later reference to any such appointment. Maybe Seidenberg is still effectively CEO of IDS and Royal Mail ?

Nobody books any appointments solely by Post only. In fact I have never booked a Dental Appointment by Post.
Nobody writes to their Doctors to book an appointment, it's completely farcical.

The Government seems to have it's Head up It's Rse on this matter. I think they may have a warped and almost desperate view that it might bring them in some votes.
I think it would need something of Titanic proportions to keep this lot in!

That would make sense, allowing him to buy some chunky tranches of shares without pushing the markets.
My own experience in the City would be too ring round large holders when presented with a large tranche of shares to get a buyer interested and not bouncing the market around.
Usually works.

isis,

Agreed, but they did hold 10%, reduced to 5% and last time to 4%. If you follow the RNS trail, Dan K seems to be mopping up most of their sells.

tuftymatt,

That's where I would love to be but as I have posted more than one we still have Blackrock (holding circa 4% at last RNS) hell bent on selling down as soon as the price gets anywhere near £2.60+.

Look for a RNS from them in the next few days showing another 1% reduction in holding.

I'll be glad to see the back of them and we can then, hopefully, hit the 3 quid mark.

All IMHO,
