19/5/2023 10:59 | isis Post 828 "Labour 1/5 1/7 1/5 3/17 1/7 1/5 1/5 1/7 2/13 1/5 1/6 1/5 1/7Bet 1/7 1/5 2/11 1/5 1/5 2/9 2/9 Conservative 7/2 7/2 7/2 10/3 7/2 10/3 7/2 7/2 15/4 7/2 7/2 7/2 7/2 7/2 7/2 10/3 7/2 10/3 7/2" These are the same party, with a slightly different Hydra head. Both have the same destination in mind for the UK, the only difference is the speed we get there. Red Labour of course will get us there faster than Blue Labour. We havent had a proper Conservative Govt since the 90's. The Establishment needs to be broken up, the electoral system changed, and the current crop of MPs(from all sides of house) fired. | geckotheglorious
19/5/2023 09:13 | My Borough is 70/80 percent Labour as in most Cities now. I don't usually bother voting at all - just pointless. | isis
19/5/2023 09:10 | Maybe it is time to gamble on Labour. Starmer is making the right noises on some topics. Talk of renegotiating Brexit is promising also. Eliminating the likes a Farage and the influence dreadful Tory Party membership is an irresistible opportunity. Hopefully some extreme party from the likes of Farage could split the Tory vote. Normally unthinkable that I should vote Labour, but things are out of control with this shower. The sight of Sunack calling for more sanctions on Russia today is an embarrassment. Like the Tory party membership he thinks we are still a great power. ...then again his speech may have been sent to him by the `Pentagon who ordered him to deliver it. | careful
19/5/2023 09:00 | Labour are 5-1 on with the Bookies. I don't think they'd get it that wrong. | isis
19/5/2023 08:59 | A market cap of £2bn. who would have thought it. Vince Cable was hammered by MP's for selling it off too cheaply for £3.6bn, at the same time underwriting the pension liabilities. That was 9 years ago. I looked through the statement. They said that they would improve cash flow next year by selling off assets. That just about sums it up, to keep this bloated inefficient overstaffed organisation afloat, riddled with Spanish practices and chronic absenteeism...we can sell off the family silver. disaster. | careful
19/5/2023 08:44 | No divi, huge losses, it's uninvestable save for the posties accepting the agreement | casholaa
19/5/2023 08:39 | I agree that Truss should have been given a chance. I'm still confused as to what happened with her. Where I'm sitting it's looking like a labour government next year or perhaps a hung parliament. I suppose we should be thankful that Corbin is no longer leader as he would probably get in now. | encarter
19/5/2023 08:11 | If you accounted for inflation our stock market is probably down 30-40% It's no wonder Companies want to move to other Exchanges. Truss had it right and was attacked by all the Anti Brexit Nutters who do not want to see the UK do well including the IMF. I don't think anyone even had a clue what She was doing which was already set out in here bid for the Leadership. The unfortunate timing of the mini Budget after Rate Hikes in the US and UK was the real reason the markets fkd up. I personally don't think the Tories can do much to stay in power as people want a change to. They are certainly no friends of average Tory supporters. | isis
19/5/2023 07:46 | "Then the Government in it's wisdom is making it even worse by curtailing CGT limits to almost nothing." Given no indexation and inflation circa 10% I think you may well find that in reality the resulting effect is that for many they are actually likely to be less than nothing. Or negative incentive to take risk, if you prefer. | glavey
18/5/2023 22:59 | What is their mcap at the moment? | blackhorse23
18/5/2023 22:35 | Labour 1/5 1/7 1/5 3/17 1/7 1/5 1/5 1/7 2/13 1/5 1/6 1/5 1/7Bet 1/7 1/5 2/11 1/5 1/5 2/9 2/9 Conservative 7/2 7/2 7/2 10/3 7/2 10/3 7/2 7/2 15/4 7/2 7/2 7/2 7/2 7/2 7/2 10/3 7/2 10/3 7/2 | isis
18/5/2023 21:40 | Tories are hoping that a late tax giveaway and a radical manifesto will do the trick in time for the next election. It will be tough for Labour to overturn the Tory majority. But Tories have been a disaster and deserve to lose. So much for democracy, we have no real choice. Brexit, the billions wasted on lockdown, hugging Zelesky and giving him weapons, destroying the wealth of the City, mass immigration, no industrial strategy, enormous corruption. The Tories particularly under Johnson have done enormous economic damage to this country. I loath them, ...and yet may be forced to vote for them gain. | careful
18/5/2023 21:25 | I'm not really sure what Sunak and his Cronies are doing. Labour are 5-1 on to win next election and they have alienated their voters with extra Taxes that I doubt even Labour would have enforced. | isis
18/5/2023 19:50 | This is true and lucky only a billion loss | lennonsalive
18/5/2023 18:10 | As for not volatile! lol FTSE stocks up and down 5/10 percent in a day quite often!! | isis
18/5/2023 17:48 | 5% fixed rate bonds are available now, not much point risking your cash for a divi. Only stocks worth a punt are penny shares now imho. | encarter
18/5/2023 16:20 | Then the Government in it's wisdom is making it even worse by curtailing CGT limits to almost nothing. They certainly aren't encouraging Investors but turning them to the much more dangerous SB sites. Crazy!! | isis
18/5/2023 16:13 | Nearly all the trades are Algorithm's and Bot's - so who exactly is trading? | isis
18/5/2023 16:11 | Investor, sometimes trader. Nearly every stock recently has been marked down on results regardless if good or bad. Total manipulation. When you say you are a trader - do you mean Spreadbetter? | isis
18/5/2023 16:07 | You've traded shares all your life but tell people to steer clear because of volatility. As a Trader, the thing you want is volatility as if gives you opportunities. The last thing you want is a stable market, as a Trader. I've been doing this over 20 years and I'd say at the moment is pretty tame and boring. | liam1om
18/5/2023 16:04 | I don't think Retail Investors play much of a part in the markets these days. The volatility is enough to put anyone off. I think Hedge Funds, Bots and next door's Cat find the UK markets easy to manipulate. Having traded shares and invested all my working life I now advise people to steer clear because of the volatility and manipulation. Just now worth the hassle. | isis
18/5/2023 15:58 | careful, Huge proportion of volume is done at close of business. UT trades usually account for more than the entire days trading then some after market trades reported on top. Expect a 1m+ figure at 16:35 NMRN | not my real name
18/5/2023 15:52 | 1.3 million shares traded out of a total of about 950m. Such light volume, hardly any being sold, and yet price falls by 7%. Don't exactly know how these price are fixed. Can't trust these markets. Maybe with a safe 4% on offer from deposits, risk free, no one is interested in shares anymore. | careful
18/5/2023 15:23 | I think part of it is down to anything gls made, which was also down, was effectively wiped away by rm. It were a smart move to group rm + parcel force together as they won't need to scratch their heads on how to separate them. In the meantime, we await the vote with baited breath. | casholaa
18/5/2023 14:57 | Can't believe the drop today. What were these sellers expecting from todays results? Dan Kretinski must be licking his lips looking at the share price. Expect a rise in the next few days and an increase in his holdings RNS to follow. Good luck to all holders, NMRN | not my real name |
