Evening all,

Someone dropped 4.8 million shares, around £10m, after the market closed. My guess would be Blackrock but as the price rose today I will also assume that Big Dan K has added that lot to his already considerable holding.

Keep a look out for RNS in the next couple of days. Interesting times!

"We all walked to School even at the age of 6! Poor darlings!! lol"

We probably didnt have as many kiddie fiddlers around back then - now there are whole crowds of groomers in northern England towns mostly of people we have imported over the decades.

UK was safer thats for sure. More traditional values. Neighbours kept an eye on everyones kids and your average adult was concerned if a child was on their own (and ensured they were kept safe where- ever they were going)

All gone.

Import the worst of the third world, import the worst of the third worlds values.

And yes, I've spent plenty of time in the third world so know what Im talking about.

I think most of the Postie's are nearly geriatric so their kids are in their 30's and 40's, maybe they still take them to School I'm not sure. :-))

Mind you I did get the Tube sometimes! :-))

I actually did get on the Tube when I was 5, but I was with my Brother who was 8.

I've still no idea which way the dimwits are going to vote.

I really don`t know what way it will go. its a coin toss at the moment.
From what i am hearing the "dimwits" are not happy with the terms and conditions....especially the delivery posties.

The cwu jumped the gun thinking they done a good deal and were hoping for a yes vote
That`s why the last ballot was delayed/postponed
I think they knew the posties wouldn`t want to continue the one day strikes even though they`ve already done 18days(i think) while the cwu were negotiating a great deal for them.
Even the extra £900 each from the surplus pension fund might not be enough for a yes vote.
It`s not all about the cost of living wage increase or the % payrise.
One problem to the terms and conditions is the start finish times, Most delivery posties are used to starting about 6;30/7;00 and finishing around 2;30/3;00 and have systems in place for childcare school runs etc .Maybe thats one of the reasons people picked royal mail as a job. I know the job is changing but...

If you worked in say a bank and the bank decided they wanted to change your hours from 9am till 5pm to 12pm till 8pm 7days a week but you will still get 2 days off every week like maybe a Monday and Thursday week 1 then week 2 Tuesday and Friday etc.

Anyway, that`s the way i see it and i`m still a shareholder.

Let's hope this can now get voted in and we move back towards 250 again in the short term. Longer term though it's about reducing / stopping the daily loss and then we have a great chance of seeing 300+

Good luck all 👍🏻

Looks like they've found the extra money without having to splash out as they have surplus Pension Funds.
The particular extra amount comes from money that is in escrow and not part of anything. No doubt there will be some whinging but it should be enough to get the vote over the line and return to some sort of normality.

I have but they were very good in dealing with it and so were eBay. I had a parcel delivered by Yodel last week and watch him put it in the green bin without knocking or leaving a card? My postie would never do that. Obviously someone will get lots more parcels delivered in a day if they put them in the bin rather than knock at the door and I don't mind paying a bit more for that service. Sadly most people just use the cheapest service. The CWU are correct when they say it's a race to the bottom but I don't see a way to change that.

Well when RM are on form they are the best. Ordered something off Ebay yesterday afternoon standard post (small parcel) free post - arrived this morning!
Also they ring the Bell even if it's not to be signed for, never leave on Door Step. Still haven't got my money off bad Ebayer and Evri debacle since January.

I've Never had a Parcel go missing from RM or any other dispute.

Casholaa,

"I've still no idea which way the dimwits are going to vote."
----------------------------------------------------------------

This typical post from the CWU twitter feed may give you some idea.

"I couldn't care less about the USO
I just want to finish at a sensible time in the winter and want my back pay from last year and my old terms and conditions back."

What he actually wants is his old terms and conditions back on the new higher pay rate AND the lump sum. Morons, 90% of them.

Very surprised at the sellers taking miniscule profits just as things are getting interesting. The way I still see it is if they ditch RM we make a lot of money and if they can reach an agreement and even get to break even, then we make a lot more money. Either way the shareholders win.

All IMHO,

Bonus of at least £1400 plus back pay should see them get the deal over the line.

From LSEPhunt73Posts: 433Price: 216.50No OpinionAnnouncementToday 17:45We want to start this update by thanking members and representatives for your support during what has been the most challenging period in the history of Royal Mail Group. After reaching agreement with the employer, it became apparent that the local working environment would remain challenging without an immediate and visible shift in approach from the company at all levels. On this basis we postponed the members vote on the national agreement to enable us to enter further discussions, covering:- The crucial need to restore quality of service and USO compliance in every local office.- To achieve the above the need for Royal Mail to work with the CWU and commence the process of reviewing failed revisions.- The need for all delivery offices to have sight of their proposed start and finish times prior to the ballot.Additionally, as previously explained, we have continued to explore the opportunity for an additional lump sum payment. We are pleased to confirm progress has been made in all of these areas.1. We have agreed a joint statement on section 2.5. A copy can be viewed here https://www.cwu.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/RMG-CWU-JOINT-STATEMENT-%E2%80%93-JUNE-2023.pdfThe statement confirms the full restoration of the Industrial Relations Framework, a commitment to restore quality of service and USO compliance in every office and crucially – our reps are back at the negotiating table. To support the roll out of the joint statement an online event will be held at 0800 on Wednesday 21st June for every CWU representative and operational manager in the UK. We will also hold a CWU National Briefing next week. Further details on this will be shared in due course.2. We have clarified further the position on later starts and finishes with the employer. This includes details on how we will work together to further mitigate the impact of these plans locally and nationally. This position and an online form to find out proposals for your office can be found here https://www.cwu.org/national-agreement-proposed-start-and-finish-times/Please take the time to read the joint statement on later starts prior to checking your office proposals https://www.cwu.org/later-starts-joint-statement/3. We have secured an additional lump sum payment of at least £900 which will be paid upon ratification of the agreement. This is in addition to the already agreed £500 lump sum and any back pay you will be due from the 6% pay award from April 2023.Details of the payment and the background to it can be found here https://www.cwu.org/pensions-statementOn the basis of the above the Postal Executive have now agreed for the members ballot on the Business Recovery, Transformation and Growth Agreement to go ahead. The revised timetable is as follows:Ballot Papers dispatched Thursday 22nd June.Ballot closes Tuesday 11th July.

Me too. Results aren't very good. Last 6 months loss is obscene, I don't know where it could have gone. Hopefully they've been taking advantage of the situation and over spending. Next year's results will definitely be a big improvement regardless and the market took it on the chain so once they settle the dispute I expect a rise to at least £3 and perhaps even a divi.
