Loganair,Rya has the best balance sheet to see it through this crisis. O'Leary will probably be waiting for competition to fold or doing a once in a generation cheeky jetdeal like he did after 9/11. Ezj are struggling but they have been fast to cut costs and reduce schedule to a manageable level. They had some £2bln in liquidity with reported cashburn of between £120-160mln month at the height of the first lockdown (a cost which has likely alleviated as they are flying 30-40% schedule). I don't see them folding unless nextyear is a complete flop. Jet2 are remaining silent on their cashburn for now. I have concerns regarding this.I hate to say it but I think its IAG, even after this RI, that needs to get it's costs under control. Burning £1bln every 7-8weeks is totally unsustainable in this climate. They are heading for serious trouble in Q1 if they cannot make big cost savings. This is sad but a reflection of where we are.Cash

Wizz Air has warned it may be forced to park more of its planes over the coming months as coronavirus travel restrictions will continue to depress demand for travel.

Stock market investors have similar reasons to be cautious about Air-France KLM. The carrier confirmed this week that it is in talks with its main shareholders about plans to raise more capital.

Goodbody Stockbrokers analysts Mark Simpson and Nuala McMahon downgraded their view on the European airline sector – saying airline stocks are “overbought221;.

Even old Willie Walsh said IAG are fighting for survival.

Airlines in Europe and the USA have increased their debt burden by c40% this year already as well as sale and lease back many of their aircraft therefore going forward they'll be no where near as profitable as they were pre-Covid.

Sadly for the airlines they are both labour and capital intensive and therefore difficult to cut back their costs when times are hard.

In the UK I've heard the best of a bad bunch are Jet2 as they are by far the best run airline in the UK and maybe in Europe as a whole.
