Holiday travel will be back - Yes....however there will be some permanent loss in the high margin, high profit corporate traffic.

Not bothered about 600, there will be a slow recovery, more sustainable once global vaccines kick in, even 200p+ is ok for me next year, no rush but for sure travel will be back once vaccines are working.

I feel you pain logan.

Iag will do buybacks for cancellation. Remember they didn't do share consolation.

Vaccine found = iag 600p with the help of multi billion pound share buybacks for cancellation.

I've tried by best to explain why any investment at them moment in IAG is not a good idea, however it seems to me I'm hitting my head against a brick wall as those who have already lost a lot of money in IAG do not want to hear that they've made a very bad investment decision in putting their money into IAG.

600p nearly £30bln valuation.

IAG are going to have to fly more shorter haul tourist routes which will put them into direct competition with the low cost discount carriers.

The reason for the low cost discount airlines buying the new long range A321 is because this aircraft has a range of 5,000mn or c12 hours flying time.

Spacedust, these shares will not hit 600p again. That would need a market capital of 20-25bn?
The share dilution of 150%, as I believe.

IAG have already said that due to the permanent loss of some of their high margin, high profit corporate passengers they'll need to fly more of the low margin tourist traffic.

The discount airlines are now buying the new long range A321 which has a range of 5,000nm, which can now easily fly trans Atlantic flights.

People will always want to take holidays, therefore the low cost discount airlines are in a far better position then the likes of IAG who make 80% of their profits flying corporate passengers across the pond.

IAG is mainly a long haul carrier and therefore does not directly compete with WizzAir, EasyJet and RyanAir etc.The most profitable cabin for British Airways is Premium Economy which caters for a mix of business and premium leisure travellers.I am convinced the market for international air travel will come back the only question is when and who will be left to cater for the demand.

IAG are currently losing £500mln per month and if they do not bring back their A380's into service they'll have to write them off at at cost in excess of £1 billion.

Some of IAG's high margin, high profit corporate traffic has been lost for ever whereas people will always still want to go on holiday on the low cost, discount airlines.

Therefore going forward the likes of Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and Wizz are in a far better position then the likes of IAG.

IAG will be like Lloyds and the banks, will almost certainly never regain its glory days - this is what happens when an industry becomes "now every one can fly," as it becomes a race to the bottom.

IAG will not be paying a dividend during 2021 or 2022 at least and most probably even further out while their 2021 p/e is looking like to be somewhere in the 30s or 40s.

The point is if you're in a position to take up the Rights issue then you've already lost over 50% of the value of your shares that gave you the right to rights issue in the first place.

As other posters posted at the time when the price of the rights was first announced, to sell your IAG shares at 200p, then come in later to buy back in at sub 100p - that is if still wanting to be invested in IAG.
