It's getting hammered not only because of covid/restrictions but because of the rights issue. It's a technical situation that I believe will right itself next few days

Thanks. Interesting to hear. I can only guess that once the runners have completed their purchase though, there will be nothing else to support the share, other than market trades.

Nothing in the wider scheme of covid I imagine but the book runners will take the share price higher otherwise they will be stuck with a huge loss. It's cheaper for them to take a punt in the open market by buying say 150m quid of shares to force the price higher (and in turn encourage punters to take up their rights) than it is underwriting 2.700.000.000! It's an obvious call (I used to work as a trader in an American inv bank, I used to see it every day) IAG has been hammered vis a vis the other airlines past few sessions. Let's see

but they only have until midday tomorrow to take up the rights.....and then ?
after all, nothing will have changed.

Watch the book runners for the rights issue start to buy stock in the open market so they encourage people to take up their rights. This will end the week significantly higher than it is now

DJ futures looking negative. Think it may be too early to get back in. BoJo's announcement won't help.

60p by the end of this month.....by the looks of things. My 60p prediction this winter could well be blown out of the park

So maybe the underwriters May have to short the stock to hedge potential losses which they will be enhancing by opening the instrument to hedge the losses....... round and round we go

The underwriters will be on the hook for any rights not taken up.
I guess they will then have to sell the new shares to recover some of their losses ?

Might sound daft, but what happens if the IAGN price drops to zero, who's left holding the can? Will it be the underwriters who have to buy at the top price or is it in their interest to get it as low as possible?

Folks, what are your thoughts on outcome of the RI? Will a big chunk be sat with the underwriters?

I think there maybe a mini-rally if its mostly taken up.

What planet are people on when they expect behaviour to work? It doesn't. Follow the Swedish model and live with it or legislate. Simples.

I have more respect for Professor Chris Whitty than armchair experts on virus control such as you or I.What was stated at the press conference this morning is in my opinion the facts and will be a repeat of what happened in March unless we all act now or the government intervenes again.I do think it will be less second time around as the virus is much better understood and there are much more effective treatments also the government will act quicker which was a big mistake last time around.A vaccine is looking more and more promising each day and I do think come April the future will be looking much better.

idiot expert on TV assumes doubling every 7 days then number of infections/death by October will be astronomical.

Same idiot assumptions as last time.

He should invest in shares.
My £10,000 investment went up 3% yesterday.
Assuming this rate of growth continues after 60 days my shares will be worth £59000.

They are twerps, have they not heard of dynamic effects.
When infections grow, people modify their behaviour from fear.
The death rate/infection rate is very low now.

How did they get the title 'professor'?
