I thought I should let everyone know that a good colleague of mine whose company has a sizeable holding of IGP shares tells me he spoke to a senior person in the company last week and contrary to my warnings he was assured by them that there is no pressure on them to raise further funds. They do not intend to dilute the share base any further.

If this is the case, this is really very good news and I suspect on any further positive announcements the share price has the potential to move upwards again very strongly.

Sorry if my warnings might have held the share price back.

The $104m cancelled Bearingpoint contract for "420,000 federal employees from 40 agencies with standardized high-tech identification cards" is up for grabs now. 18 IT companies submitted their bids on friday.

"Agency officials expect to make an award to a single vendor late in the second quarter of fiscal 2007, which ends March 31, or early in the third quarter"

Nice find igoe104 ... and thanks a lot for all the useful information you bring to this BB ...

I just read through the RNS for the last results again. Do you know ... Richard Parris uses the words "significant" 3 times in that report (and "significantly" 1 time).

:o)

JUST BEEN looking at the last results again, this is my favourite bit of it.

We believe that the US Government market will be the catalyst for the more
widespread adoption of smart cards across all walks of life in the US. This will
create one of the world's largest markets for Intercede's technology. In
parallel with our US activities we are continuing to grow our activities in
Europe and we are also building partnerships in anticipation of the UK
Government starting the contracting process for the UK National ID card.

While it is still too early to predict the size or timing of these
opportunities, our early successes provide good cause for confidence that the
upside for Intercede will be significant.

Whichever direction the government go, they're going to need a CMS for issuance and verfication that can be linked to the different databases and works with PKI.
which is right up igp street.

ps idd may have traded 100 million shares, the priced has not moved plus the shares are only 0.5p . LOL

(igp) intercede have been involved, with lots of demo,s and meetings with the uk government for a while. they are also picking up contracts from usa government.(and excepting more soon)
lots of growth for a company valued at 20 million. well worth putting in your watch-list guys.

omgwhid2 - 10 Jan'07 - 16:07 - 5044 of 5045 edit

That report was from 2005?? lots of water under the bridge since then, the goal posts have moved an awful lot,not least the announcement this week that the idd card system will not after all be a 'stand alone' project. Integration of many other gv't schemes to accomodate the idd card scheme, will be right up IDD's street, they having been running government schemes for best part of a decade. IDD have traded 100million shares in a few days over xmas and new yr.
Intercede are fast becoming dependant on fickle and unreliable USA contracts, all of which are not long term and can disappear as fast as they emerge. No sorry, but I think I will pass on igp.

I think the government would have sorted out, who was going to be involved in the national id project a while back.companies have to be organised, and staff levels have to be able to meet the demand, for the project lift off. i think this project was always going to be far to big for a small company like idd to take on. and with the companies track record, i think it could be more of the case of wishful thinking from the idd shareholders.

i think its a job for a big fish like oberthur, backed up by intercede,s myid, thats my bet anyway.

THERE IS COUPLE OF POINTERS THAT BACK IT.

no 1.

NO2. This is interesting. A job search for six security analysts to support a major UK client - I'd guess it's government related since they need government security clearance vetting. If you scroll down the list of technologies required, the bottom entry is Intercede MyID. Looks like a major project to me.

I was told there were buyers lower down around the 63p level after the price price spiked to 70p.

As I think I posted before there was some buying but as usual this always evaporates when it is seen stock starts to come on the market.

I disagree with WJ and your view that cash is not needed. I think the fact the share price is so stable is because a placement is in the pipe-line.

There are a host of reasons why cash is needed which I would rather not go into at this time. But I promise to come back.

If the company raised £2m by making a placement with 4/5 institutions around the 54p level and timed this with another major contract announcement this would be seen as very positive for the company.

Patience is the order of the day.

Thanks for that WJ and Aphrodites - I tend to agree with you WJ - surely they must have got through the worst of it by now - and cash should start coming in rather than going out!! Are either of you inclined to add at this price - or would you wait for further information? Aphrodites - what is the position re those institutions wanting to buy in - and those wanting to get out?
By the way, WJ, I thought Sept only had 30 days!!lol
Best wishes to you both
