I,VE been looking more into this gemalto, mirosoft deal, and the more i look at it,
the better it seems.

i like this bit.

Enterprises can now easily and cost effectively replace weak user name and password-based security with Gemalto smart cards

It was on wallstreetreporter.com for a while after, but like you said he only had it up on the web site for a day or so. i look at this as a positive thing,
the way it was taken off very quickly.

MAYBE he said more than he should of.

here,s more on the subject.

Yep your right ram, it was mr parris who mentioned microsoft, in a wallstreetreporter interview.

an involvement with microsoft, would catch the eye, and improve revenues, in a big way.

ps if anyone can find that interview, please post the link. i,ll be very greatful.

Ask the experts - will IGP be involved with this solution?

Microsoft, Gemalto Team on Digital Security
Gemalto, a digital security provider, and Microsoft announced Nov. 29 that Windows Vista will support Gemalto .Net security devices. With Gemalto .Net devices, enterprises will be able to change user name and password-based security options by using Gemalto smart cards and tokens.
"Putting a secure personal device in the hand of every employee and citizen is the ideal way for an organization to securely and conveniently protect digital identities and data," said Olivier Piou, chief executive officer of Gemalto, in a company release.
Support for Gemalto's .Net technology is included in Windows Vista, which aims to help enterprises organize and use these secure personal devices without having to use any additional software or middleware. A microprocessor-based Gemalto .Net device will use a streamlined version of the .Net framework, giving enterprises cryptographic capabilities, two-factor authentication and support for on-device services that work within the Windows environment.
"We're pleased to be partnering with Gemalto to deliver .Net-based solutions that make it easier to deploy and manage smartcards for two-factor authentication, and certificate-based services such as digital signatures and file encryption," said Sanjay Parthasarathy, corporate vice president and developer and platform evangelist for Microsoft, said in the same release. Piou stated that "Microsoft's emphasis on digital security technologies for strong authentication in Windows Vista will improve trust within the enterprise" and that "identities are validated and data is fully and conveniently secured."
These devices will also allow enterprises to install other security applications such as document signature, physical access control and employee e-purse services while also allowing enterprises to protect its digital identities and data from security threats. Gemalto .Net devices will be available once Vista launches in late January.

While reading message boards a while back I found a gem. A newsletter that is dedicated to profiling little known issues. The list is 100% double opt-in to ensure that the members are truly looking for a lead. It is certainly worth a few minutes of your time to take a look.

AN interesting read on the growing sector.

The China National ID card and system is the biggest rollout but an even larger budget of at least $15 billion is planned for the UK National ID card. Then there is continued growth in secure access applications

One maybe, even two, DEBT pushes is acceptable on here but surely future comments should be contained to the DEBT thread not IGP?

Australian government is making the first steps, in smart/id card deployment.

The card will be the first developed in accordance with the government's fledgling Identity Management for Australian Government Employees Framework (IMAGE). Smartcards are one component of IMAGE, to be implemented across government by 2008

worth keeping an eye on the situation.

carly

As I said the other day, we are running out of buyers on this Board and the price might drift.

The other day I was also told by a colleague who deals for a large institution and speaks to Peel Hunt that they told him they had a buyer/s waiting for the price to retreat to the 64p level. But whether they are still around today remains to be seen. As you know greed plays a big part and when some think they can might get stock at a lower level they stay out.

What is not clear is where any size is likely to come from.

They might decide to wait until the price is 55-60p and then ask a price in 100k. If it is offered at 65p they will then take it and get the size they want.

It's the only way to deal in a stock where there is such poor liquidity.
