22/10/2006 12:20 | Yup. Personally I'd say it's 50/50 whether they make the EPS forecast of 2.3p for year ending Mar 2007 and I don't think it's ever been more than a "target forecast". For this year, they're still dependent on the implementation of a few very large projects whose timing they have no control over - although the 788k deferred income in the last balance sheet provides a good start. However, I expect them to significantly exceed that for y/e Mar 2008 when all the hard work they've been doing with channel partners over the last 12 months will begin to reap benefits. I see the other FIPS card management system which was from Actividentity has now been approved. That gives three possibilites for the agencies both on a product and SSP basis. CMS: MyID, RSA Card manager (MyID), Actividentity SSP: Verisign (MyID), OCR (RSA card manager), Cybertrust (not sure as they're a partner of both Intercede and Actividentity). It's nice to see people beginning to sit up and take notice of the progress here. | ![]() wjccghcc
22/10/2006 11:51 | kbc popping their head above the battlements - now there's a first. tomorrow should be a good day as long as the mms don't disgrace themselves too much. im sure we'll see some buys at 45p and above. | ![]() rambutan2

22/10/2006 06:31 | Wow, well spotted! I'm doubtful about that PE to the end of March 2007 though, not sure IGP are going to meet that quite yet... I was going to pick up a few more tomorrow too, looks like it may be marked up to 40p at the open... :0) | ![]() taurusthebear

20/10/2006 09:00 | I like the reference to BHAG - Big Hairy Audacious Goal. There will certainly be delays in the short-term although the Oct 2007 deadline for all cards to be issued is quite prescriptive. That's why (assuming we get some contracts) I wouldn't factor in much FIPS 201 revenue beyond the RSA fee until next financial year at the earliest. | ![]() wjccghcc
20/10/2006 08:19 | thanks for that article rambutan, Can see further delays imho...changes and implementations on this large scale never deliver on time...there are some good points about compatibility with other systems from frontend thru to backend.....and there are a lot of legacy systems which will ned to be changed...all in all a time consuming process. | ![]() jailbird
20/10/2006 01:48 | igoe posted this link a few months ago, for anyone who missed it at the time it gives some good background to where we are... | ![]() rambutan2
20/10/2006 01:32 | seems a lot, but how about 1175 fed agencies? | ![]() rambutan2
20/10/2006 00:19 | Sorry spooky, can't find that information. Again looking at the FIPS approved products, as well as the 2 approved card management systems (MyId and RSA), there are 3 approved Shared Service Providers to whom agencies can outsource the whole process. Verisign uses an OEM version of MyID, ORC uses RSA Card manager. The only one outstanding is Cybertrust - I can't find any specific information as to what card management system they're using but they are a reseller of MyID so it might be connected. In any case, that makes IGP the source of both approved card management systems and two out of the three approved SSPs. | ![]() wjccghcc

19/10/2006 17:47 | RSA Card Manager is their OEM version of MyID PIV. | ![]() wjccghcc
19/10/2006 17:42 | I think yes, reason being rsa are a good partner of igp, and with that statement about rsa, being put on intercede web site, you would think there is an involvement. why else would intercede make an annoucement about RNS on, there home page, if there wasn,t any involvement. | ![]() igoe104
19/10/2006 17:36 | This appeared today on the iii board - but does it mean any revenue for IPG? Bedford, MA, Monday, October 16, 2006 - October 16, 2006 - RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE: EMC) today announced that RSA® Card Manager software was approved by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for use in Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) environments. In addition, RSA Authentication Client middleware received HSPD-12 approval. GSA approval allows U.S. federal agencies to utilize RSA's card management system, and its related middleware, to help enable them to address the HSPD-12 mandate. RSA Card Manager is a personal identity verification (PIV) card management system that helps federal agencies comply with HSPD-12. As required for GSA approval, RSA Card Manager is an interoperable system that supports a broad range of third-party HSPD-12 solution components, including PIV-II cards, biometrics technology, hardware security modules and externally managed public key infrastructure offered by approved Shared Service Providers. RSA Authentication Client technology can serve as the interface between a PIV card and the applications and/or infrastructure using digital certificates for actions such as authentication, encryption and digital signing. RSA Authentication Client middleware previously received Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201 validation, which is required for key technology solutions operating within HSPD-12 environments. "As U.S. federal agencies adopt technologies that will enable them to issue and manage PIV cards, it is vital that these organizations have access to technology solutions that have been approved to operate in an HSPD-12 environment," said Shannon Kellogg, director of information security policy and programs at RSA. "By delivering both a card management system and middleware with GSA approval, RSA has the ability to provide U.S. federal agencies the means to achieve immediate compliance while also ensuring their organization's long-term security." Further details regarding RSA's efforts to serve the U.S. federal government are available at www.rsasecurity.com/ | corbeta
19/10/2006 16:37 | WJCCGHCC - Assuming part of that reply was for me,i know it's all federal agencies, what i want to know is how many different agencies are there. | ![]() spooky
19/10/2006 15:49 | AFAIK all federal agencies. "HSPD-12 was signed on August 27, 2004, in response to the general threat of unauthorized access to physical facilities and logical IT assets. HSPD-12 applies to all government employees and contractors. The primary objective is the development and deployment of a Federal Government-wide common and reliable identification verification system that will be interoperable among all Government agencies and serve as the basis for reciprocity between those agencies by the compliance deadline of October 27, 2006." Taurus you may well be right, although so far the US government has been reasonably open in disclosing contracts to demonstrate transparency. Also, if conditions of contracts are not fulfilled, then of course an agency could change to another option. I don't believe that all remaining deals will be announced before the 27th - the GSA and the Interior Department's National Business Centre are both acting as Shared Service Providers for PIV card issuance. They will sign contracts with integrators whose responsibility it is to put together the solution from the approved component products - I doubt that has to be done by Friday and they may not announce those contracts since they are between private companies. However a number of agencies are going it alone (like the EPA) and they will be more likely to announce prior to the deadline. | ![]() wjccghcc
19/10/2006 15:33 | Does anyone know how many different U.S. government agencies are required to meet the guidelines. | ![]() spooky |
