yump - that's one of the reasons I bought a lot 6 months ago. Oh well, timing never was my good suit... ;0)

igoe - good to hear, but that's a while away, it seems that contracts are announced (if not awarded) at the very last minute in this game! :0)

Blimey when it moves it moves. On the chart if it stays above the 35p ish level, there doesn't look to be any real levels historically until 50p.

if you check the consortium web site the third link down, it will give more details, as well audrbea. i,ve thought that for a while, any consortium member contract win, an involvement looks very likely.

re-reading this bit about Precise Biometrics:

The Precise Match-on-Card(TM) solution is a clear step ahead, increasing security while enhancing user privacy. This Smart Token solution is interoperable with the efficient MyID(R) card life cycle management system of Intercede(R).

So their stuff is 'interopearbale' with IGP's...

Sounds good when you note that PB landed a contract last month

"US Department of State orders 2,000 fingerprint and smart card reader devices from Precise Biometrics

Precise Biometrics AB (publ.) has received a follow-up order from the US Department of State, worth MSEK 2.3 in total. The order is for more than 2,000 units, with a combination of fingerprint and smart card reader devices, Precise 200 MC and Precise 250 MC."

So maybe we'll see more partnering between Intercede and PB?

nurdin - It depends on where you think the company and it's share price is going.I believe Intercede has a key position within a market that is in the very early stages of a secular move,on that basis a penny here or a penny there is not an issue. The majority of posters on this board appear to be aware of the fact that the real gains here will be made by those that manage to hold on for the long term.If you make a decision to buy, this is a share that should be bought on the dips.

If you get it when it calms down, you usually find the actual spread is more like 1-1.5p.

A High-Performance FIPS Certified Smart Card Solution for HSPD-12 Requirements
oktober 04, 2006 (12:00 PM EST)
PRNewswire

LITTLETON, Colo., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- CPI Card Group -- Colorado Inc. announced plans to deliver next generation identity management smart cards under the Federal HSPD-12 deployment program scheduled to be launched this year. In August of 2004 President Bush set in motion a program to establish personal identity validation smart cards for all Federal employees and contractors serving the government. The industry has been preparing for these new higher standards established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology [NIST] for the smart card 7816 ISO format.

/...

The Smart Token's contactless RFID feature is designed with a secure close-proximity range limitation, guarding privacy and thwarting vulnerabilities.

Precise Biometrics' use of the secure smart card environment to match the cardholder's stored fingerprint against the cardholder's finger is another example of the next generation nature of this Smart Token solution. Conventional biometric solutions match the fingerprint against a remote data base, involving additional off-card processing and costs while exposing the stored templates to potential compromise. The Precise Match-on-Card(TM) solution is a clear step ahead, increasing security while enhancing user privacy. This Smart Token solution is interoperable with the efficient MyID(R) card life cycle management system of Intercede(R).

CPI Card Group will manufacture this Smart Token. The FIPS and NIST certifications are in place or scheduled to be completed in a timely fashion. A long-life composite card material base, providing heightened durability, is also available that delays normal card replacement costs well into the future.

I can't believe that identity cards haven't yet become the next big investment play - it still looks like it will be possible to build an increasing stake on each piece of good news, which is nice because it reduces the risk as you go along, rather than having to stick all your investment in at one go to catch the big rise.

ttb
Glad you're back in the black with this after listening to all the positives and then being unlucky enough to catch it just before the fall. I think this is the most volatile share I've been in, when you consider it has been as low as 15p and up to 30 ish already, none of which happened on the back of any real news. Thats a big and at times scary movement !
