Did you ring up Andrew Walker or even the reception to check? I don't usually ask permission to go to AGMs, just turn up with my account statement showing my holdings and companies have always been happy to admit me. After all, you can prove you're a shareholder and most companies are so pleased someone's come to the AGM anyway. Provided you live not too far away, I'd definitely try it.

Thanks for the thought about MOB - started selling down my holding once it fell through 3 quid so didn't get too badly burned (given my entry was about 160p). Just hold a few now to see if it really is worth 3 quid or not (I still believe the China market is very different from the UK but it's being tarred with the same brush at the moment). Still not nice to see a large profit evaporate. Taught me to be more rigorous in distinguishing between companies falling between a stop loss because of the way the share price moves (e.g. IGP - see the 7% fall on 17k shares sold) and those where the market knows something is not right.

i,ve watching rsa security very closely, because they are supposed to be involved, in helping mirosoft, prevent multiple identities. in a form of a mini id card. hopefully igp, will be involved.
with mr parris mensioning mirosoft, in the interview, with the wallstreetreporter.com, we live in hope, because we all know it would be a huge contract.

sorry to say that, my broker has failed to sort me out a position, at the agm.
he said they need two weeks notice, but he said he will try to sort it out, still not heard anything, so it looks like hes fail.

wjcc hope your out of mob, thats turning into abit of a mess.

EMC are buying RSA Security for $2.1 bn. They want to combine RSA's information security products and expertise with their information management and storage offerings. Hopefully this should open up a new market for IGP via RSA's card management system and make EMC a key partner as seems to have happened with Safenet after they bought Datakey.

igoe104, you might want to ask management for their thoughts on this acquisition at the AGM tomorrow if you get the chance.

Well done igoe104. In my experience with smaller companies, just take your latest account statement showing your IGP holding and they'll be overjoyed to see you. You won't be able to vote in the show of hands but you should be able to ask questions from the floor (although may be better to do it informally after the AGM is over).

Safenet are big - probably one of the top 3 in the US. It looks like they've really taken Intercede on board as partner after their acquisition of Datakey (one of the original IGP clients).

alot depends on if they get worldwide contracts with national id cards, lots of countries of going to have id card, france, japan, uk, australia, and many more.
if we can get involved in all of this, as well as the other stuff, £6.50 could even look cheap. i know for a fact, thats what intercede, are looking to do that, though their partners, (i been told by the management). but as we all know, it all buts at the moment, but i,m feeling lucky.
ps keep a eye on griffin mining, take over talk going on. i got the shares at 6p, they are now 80p, could easily go past £2.50.

I doubt we'll get any announcement at the AGM - they haven't in the past. Also I think they're moving away from big contract announcements as they focus more on the OEM channel where confidentiality is more important. Still, I'd hope to hear something about the first PIV contracts come October.

My price target is a bit more conservative than yours but I reckon EPS of 10p in 3 years if sales increase to around 9mm which should be achievable given the forecast market growth and IGP's leading position.

things might pick up from july 5th and onwards, especially if there is lots of positives at the agm. september they will be news about, whos getting a piece of the national id card contract. october it will be the yanks rebadgeing. i think its the case of how much, of the piece of the pie, we will get. (rather than no involvement). i also excepting a few surpisers before then, as well.
my end of 2006 target is 60p

2007 £1.50
2008 £2.70
2009 £6.50 hopefully

Somebody's Watching Me
June 06, 2006

"I always feel like somebody's watching me" – Rockwell

Everyday use of Smart Cards and Biometric ID systems is mushrooming, according to the latest ChangeWave survey of the Homeland Security industry. But a look at the future shows that Fingerprint IDs, Facial Recognition and other high-tech measures could soon leave many of us wondering if somebody is indeed watching.

During the week of May 9-12, 2006, we surveyed 594 ChangeWave Alliance members who work for companies providing homeland security products or are knowledgeable about the industry.

In a clear sign of growing usage, nearly four-in-ten respondents (38%) said their company currently uses a Smart Card or Biometric ID system in the workplace – 9-points higher than in our April 2005 survey.

"Contactless" Proximity Access Cards (52%) and Standard Swipe Cards (35%) are the dominant systems in today's workspace.

Question Asked: What type of smart card or biometric ID system(s) does your company/work locale currently use? (Check All That Apply)

But when it comes to the future, a slew of new solutions are just around the corner. By a wide margin, industry respondents say Fingerprint IDs and Advanced ID Cards are the leading technologies in this rapidly expanding market.

Here is a snapshot of the latest trends as reported to us by our Homeland Security Industry respondents:

Question Asked: Which of the following Biometric ID and Smart Card technologies are currently...

The most technologically advanced?

Best suited to meet current market demand?

Will attract the most spending over the next 12 months?

Clearly, the results show a bright future for Advanced ID Cards, Fingerprint IDs and Facial Recognition. But with all the emphasis on advanced Biometric ID solutions, who will be the biggest winners?

Drilling Down to the Companies. We asked our homeland security industry respondents to identify the companies they think most stand to win in key Biometric ID areas. Here is what we found:

Identix (IDNX) was the company cited as most likely to benefit in several key areas of the market, including Fingerprint ID, Facial Recognition, and Iris Recognition.

Industry respondents also see Identix (16%) as the company most likely to pick-up market share over the next year. As respondent JTO2813 puts it, Identix is "The largest tenprint manufacturer and can combine their fingerprint technology with facial recognition." LBE41999 concurs, citing Identix's "superior technology."

Viisage Technology (VISG) was also mentioned as a top company in Facial Recognition and Iris Recognition.

We note that Identix and Viisage expect to complete a merger during 2nd quarter 2006, which would create a Biometric ID powerhouse. As respondent TMO19071 puts it, "Viisage can take advantage of the best of their own technology and that of Identix due to their merger."

Smart Card Winners. We also looked at which companies are likely to lead in the Smart Card space. While there are no clear cut winners, ActivIdentity (ACTI) (formerly ActivCard) is seen as most likely to gain share in the Smart Card market over the next year, followed by SCM Microsystems (SCM) and Cubic Corp. (CUB).

Another trend with major implications is the move toward Multifactor Identification. As respondent T_R1976 explains, "In the past, a smartcard was combined with a simple personal pin for security entrance. Now ... we are seeing multiple layers of security – a smartcard with a pin plus a host of other layers – personal combinations of information, a second digital smart card, multiple/changing combinations, etc."

Bottom Line. The growing use of Smart Cards and Biometric IDs in the workplace means we are all going to be watched in growing numbers. Moreover, the methods are about to get extraordinarily high-tech. The future lies with Fingerprint IDs and Advanced ID Cards - and it's practically here.

even in not so great markets, the share price is still holding its own. it seems to me that most of the holders, know the score with this company, and not willing to give any of their stock up.

there is big talk of there being a new improved amercian driving licence. at the moment they are not sure of the makeup of the new type of license, but with the usa homeland security involved in it, it could well be like a smart card type of license. lets hope there some possibility of some involvement.
the talk is it could start rolling out at the end of the year.

Department of Transport to plough £19 million into upgrading ticketing equipment to ITSO compatibility:

From the latest ITSO newsletter. Got to be good news for INN & SMRT:

"The Department for Transport has agreed to fund for upgrades to existing
Oyster equipment in London to make Oyster gates and validators on the
Underground, at major rail termini and on the buses, accept basic alternative
Smartcard (ITSO) products. The expected cost is around £19m.

ITSO welcomes the announcement today that ITSO interoperability will be
extended across the whole Oyster Network and London Zones 1-6 rail
stations. This aligns the whole of London with the recent announcement that
bidders for the South Western Rail Franchise will be required to include
ITSO.

Chairman of ITSO, Neil Scales, Director General of Merseytravel, said
"This confirms ITSO as the UK standard for all interoperable smartcard
ticketing, building on the current roll-out of schemes across England,
Scotland and Wales."

Went through the notes. Main points of interest on top of the prelims announcement are:

1. Deferred income of 788k, of which 433k is advance licence commitments from channel partners. Basically means they've received 37% of this year's revenue already. That's a big rise on last year (254k).

2. The spread of revenue is now pretty much even across the UK, US and ROW versus previous years when it's been 80% UK. For me, that means the transition to global player and wind down of hands-on UK projects is almost complete. From now on what we see in the figures will be the results of the global channel strategy put in place a couple of years ago, rather than the legacy security project business.

Otherwise, the sense is of a company who expects their time to come, though they do emphasise it could be 2-3 years before their true potential becomes apparent.

hopefully they will, sort it out. over 50 million people will have a id card, it costs £30, and start rolling out, when we all renew our passports, from 2008 onwards. but hopefully igp, could be involved in alot of other countries id setup as well. if thats the case, they will be some big movement in the share price.
agm is on 5th of july, hopefully i will go, nasty time though 9am.
