11/4/2008 07:32 | Operating loss will be less than 100k. Remember that over $2mm of revenue from TWIC was given to RSA in lieu of their advance license payments over the last 3 years so IGP would actually have made a profit of 900k and EPS of 2.7p. Revenues are lumpy and IGP are pretty conservative on revenue recognition so not surprised they've deferred some revenues into the current year, which is shaping up to be a stormer. | ![]() wjccghcc
11/4/2008 07:29 | The update sounds good in all respects...except, Peel Hunt were suggesting a small profit to March'08, whereas this suggests a reduced loss only. I'm very happy with the update - hopefully the market will be too despite possible slippage. I'll be holding anyway. | ![]() rivaldo
11/4/2008 07:19 | my take: 10 projects sounds good to me (instead of 2) ... that extra global exposure will surely generate more revenue over time .. and those new projects will impact the bottom line more fully in the next fiscal year. And new biometric card projects springing up all the time... eg look at the number of contract wins for Gemalto of late Intercede have had to finance the development cost of MyId, and now await the fruits of their work. | ![]() andrbea

11/4/2008 07:06 | Trading Update RNS Number:1186S Intercede Group PLC 11 April 2008 11 APRIL 2008 INTERCEDE GROUP PLC ("Intercede" or "the Company") Trading Update for the Full Year to 31 March 2008 On 14 February 2008, Intercede announced a number of new contract wins, and further progress on several existing projects. As it enters its closed period ahead of announcing full year results for the financial year ended 31 March 2008, Intercede is pleased to report that it continues to experience high levels of interest in and demand for its MyID technology. Good progress has been made with all of the projects referred to in the Company's previous announcement. Intercede has also been engaged with a number of new prospects. To put this in perspective, the Group is currently involved in significant work on over 10 major projects whereas, as recently as 2 years ago, Intercede was typically only working on 2 major projects at a time. The momentum is therefore clearly building and we are increasingly confident that this will be reflected in future financial performance as more and more projects move beyond the initial POC and pilot phases. Significant progress has also been made during the past year with the development of MyID Version 8.0 which is scheduled for launch during the current quarter. MyID Version 8.0 represents a substantial strengthening and broadening of the Group's historical card management offering since it is the only solution of its kind to deliver registration, ID verification and card/device issuance and life cycle management within a single product. Pre audit indications of the results for the year ended 31 March 2008 are that revenues have increased from £2.6m to £2.8m. Costs continue to be tightly controlled and have been maintained at the same level as the prior year resulting in a substantial reduction in last year's operating loss of £0.3m. Year end cash balances totalled £1.15m. Intercede expects to announce its full year results for the year ended 31 March 2008 by early June 2008. | ![]() chris1981

08/4/2008 21:20 | Howdy I think you ready my post incorrectly. It was us that offered the 50,000 shares at 40p when asked by our broker at what price we would offer this size. Quite possible it was a try-on as no other stock traded in size on the day at a lower price. This is what convinces me the market is short of stock and a sizebale buyer cannot get stock in any size cheaper than our offer at 40p. | aphrodites
08/4/2008 19:04 | This is why I get excited about the future: GCN Home > 04/08/08 web stories Digital certificates could become standard in IDs By William Jackson SAN FRANCISCO-Federal mandates for issuing interoperable electronic IDs to employees and contractors soon could spur the adoption of digital certificates and the use of public-key infrastructure (PKI) throughout the country, one industry observer predicts. Some states have begun issuing IDs compatible with federal Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards to emergency personnel, and one state has cross certified with the federal PKI bridge for authenticating digital certificates. Peter Bello, senior vice president of federal sales for Entrust Inc. of Addison, Texas, predicted that states soon will begin including digital certificates in IDs issued to citizens that would be interoperable with state and federal systems and also could be used to access commercial services. "Having citizens access government applications is the next big thing," Bello said, and the states are the logical entities to enable the process. The federal government has decided it will not be in the business of issuing digital certificates to the populace, and "the states have always been the issues of identity credentials." Bello and Entrust were at this week's RSA Security conference, updating other industry observers and government users on developments in the field of electronic authentication. Bello predicted that the certificates could begin appearing in driver's licenses in the next 12 to 24 months as states begin retooling their licenses to comply with the federal Real ID mandate. "Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I think it's just a matter of time," he said. He has reason to be optimistic: Entrust already is one of the leading providers of digital certificates to government, and expanded use of the certificates for access to online resources could open up a large new market for issuing and managing them. A digital certificate is an electronic ID, a bit of code that can be stored on a smart card or other token, or kept on a computer. It contains a digital signature from the issuing authority that can be used to verify the certificate's authenticity. It also can include a private cryptographic key that can be used to encrypt and digitally sign documents and other information. Government uses the certificates in the Defense Department's Common Access Card (CAC) and its civilian counterpart, the PIV card. The job of issuing, verifying and managing the certificates often is done by a third-party certificate authority. Several agencies, including the Treasury Department and the General Printing Office (GPO), provide certificate authority services to other federal agencies as shared service providers. Entrust is a commercial shared service provider, which has the advantage of also being able to sell into the non-federal market. Agencies such as Treasury and GPO cannot provider services to non-federal customers, so when states, contractors, research institutions and other outsiders need federally approved credentials to interact with feds, they go to Entrust. DOD has issued millions of CAC cards and, as the PIV card program begins picking up, tens of thousands of certificates have been issued to civilian workers and contractors. But the non-federal market offers a huge opportunity for certificate authorities. "We're seeing a lot of uptake from state and local governments on the First Responder Access Card [FRAC]" an ID that contains digital certificates compatible with federal cards, Bello added. Illinois, a leader in the use of digital certificates at the state and local levels, is issuing the FRAC, and a number of other states, including Tennessee, New York and Alaska are thinking about it. Illinois also is the first state to be cross certified with the federal PKI bridge, an information sharing system that enables one entity to allow the use of certificates issued by another entity to access its resources. The use of identity bridges establishes trust relationships so that one organization can accept digital certificates for strong authentication without having to issue and manage all of the certificates itself. Trust bridges so far are in the early stages of development. The aerospace and pharmaceutical industries have established their own bridges, which have been cross certified with the federal bridge. Bello said the next logical step is for more states to establish their own identity bridges which could cross certify with the federal bridge. Local government and private organizations could certify with the state bridges, creating a web of trust that could let citizens use digital certificates to access state, local and federal applications as well as do private transactions, such as banking. "It will take the states some time to get there, but the sooner they do it the better," he said. | ![]() wjccghcc
08/4/2008 18:20 | Surprised he was quoted 40 for 50,000. But the liquidity certainly dried up when I was accumulating and at least I helped mop up the end of the sells from whoever was unloading. I am quite sure this is a winner and hope to press ahead to 500,000 or maybe 600,000 (just below the 3% reporting requirement), but this side of company report am happy with my 209,000 shares. It's rare undervalued gem, with a patient and strong management team. I am sure we will see 200p one day and I am happy to wait X years til it happens. | ![]() howdy do da
08/4/2008 17:46 | igoe Have a great time there. I have a two week timeshare villa in the "Village" at the St. James Club. There is also a casino there. One day if we meet I will tell you how I won 12,000 dollars in 30 minutes on roulette on the Friday night before we departed and lost it all in a taxi on the Monday night! Believe it or not I am not a gambler. I was being so lucky that evening that on one occassion when I put 20$ on a number and it came up I let it ride on the next spin. It came up twice in succession!!!!!!!!!! But easy come. Easy go! That's not what the wife said. Interesting to see the MM's playing a few games with IGP's share price over the last few days. I understand there is a buyer in the market but with such low volumes the MM's are scared to deal in any size. Our broker telephoned this morning to inform us he had received a call from a MM enquiring as to whether his client had a price at which it would offer 50,000 shares. We told him we would sell at 40p! Needless to say we heard nothing. Having seen the seller on the way down we considered entering the market to buy a few more to try and push the price up. But sometimes you never quite know whether the MM's are playing games with you just to suck you in to unload stock. But there is a feeling that there is a sizeable buyer around this time who does not want to show his hand. Looks very interesting. | aphrodites
