22/3/2018 16:03 | But if they waited for cheaper smaller satellites, they wouldn't have anything to operate.Musk is more of a worry to be honest... | zcaprd7
22/3/2018 15:08 | Yes, but if OnewWeb has a structural cost advantage then we can kiss a meaningful return on capital on Inmarsat’s enormous capex program. | the original goldbug
22/3/2018 14:39 | It's called competition... First mover advantage and having all your kit on the planes and boats helps though. | zcaprd7
22/3/2018 13:58 | The important question remains, will OneWeb planned satellite network undermine Inmarsat’s business plan? | the original goldbug
22/3/2018 11:07 | So what then is ‘low latency’ internet? It’s not exactly streaming Netflix for first class passengers, is it!? | the original goldbug
22/3/2018 10:25 | shoobmeister 22 Mar '18 - 07:25 - 3222 of 3225 You mean OneWeb? Thanks shoobmeister - that looks like the company the article referred to "Constellation of satellites Producing 900 satellites, which will circle the Earth to enable affordable access." Low Latency Broadband At 30,000 Ft OneWeb is expanding in-flight connectivity. Our system will provide business jet, commercial airline and military aviation customers with airtime services that will include weather, navigation and health monitoring of the aircraft. Together we can bring the benefits of affordable, low‑latency Internet to 30,000 ft. | fenners66
22/3/2018 10:05 | ........£9.5k loss...... | badger60
22/3/2018 08:48 | Yep ...I lost £800 when I cut my holding at 485pps.....which would be an £8k loss now. | badger60
22/3/2018 07:43 | I'm just glad I got out at 450p with minimal damage when the results came out. I can see this going a lot lower. | rcturner2
22/3/2018 07:25 | You mean OneWeb? | shoobmeister
22/3/2018 00:08 | 68% drop from the high No lasting value created over 10 years? UK's only satellite company free stock charts from uk.advfn.com | muffinhead
21/3/2018 22:58 | Read a snippet in an article the other day about a massive upcoming launch of small cheap satellites to provide airlines with internet access. Sorry did not get the details - it might have been on an article about space junk... However if there is to be a launch of many small satellites surely that means competition ? | fenners66
21/3/2018 10:40 | Up to you, but I think they will come good, and ligado will come good as well next year... | zcaprd7
21/3/2018 10:31 | 1 week -1.22% 1 month -14.81 6 months -38.73% 5 years -44.56% And if you are thinking of waiting to pick up a bargain just before the xd date to collect the dividend, you will be losing even more. The advice I have been given by ???? is to get out and stay out rather than build and hold and if you want to take a risky punt use a CFD to short circa £3:00 | chancer
21/3/2018 09:34 | As a rule,i am very conscious of director sales or purchases but there are times when it tells you very little.Provident financial directors were buying on the way down, not a reassuring signal with the benefit of hindsight. You have to ask yourself why ISAT directors would buy stock ahead of announcing a cut in annual dividend of two thirds. If they thought yield considerations were so immaterial to the share price, you might ask why they didn't cut the cash flow outlay on dividends earlier. | steeplejack
21/3/2018 09:28 | Apparently there are contracts pending a successful launch. The question to ask is......given that the company was/is in such financial difficulties, why go ahead and launch a $200mio/$300mio satellite if it's not going to generate any income? Hence the take over hypothesis and the debt for equity swap. Added to which pi's will own less than 3.5% of the newly capitalised company after the d/e swap.......Make your own mind up....... | badger60
21/3/2018 08:25 | Who's mooting that? Someone like numis?Avanti is far more of a punt than inmarsat... Remind me, who is buying their capacity again? Hylas 4 will be another under utilised asset floating around up there. | zcaprd7
21/3/2018 05:06 | Oh well, it looks like Numis' forecast from 400p to 450p was 50p in the wrong direction. Avanti Hylas4 satellite launch on 5th April and debt for equity swap soon after. It is mooted that the company could soon be sold for 30pps+......... currently trading at 12.5p....... | badger60
20/3/2018 16:30 | Look on the bright side.....it's not quite as bad as Microfocus . | steeplejack
20/3/2018 16:15 | "Director buying is irrelevant when the management team has lost the confidence of the market." So you don't think the Directors have a clue about what's going on? | penycae
20/3/2018 16:08 | Confidence in the management team is irrelevant if they generate cash and meet guidance? | zcaprd7
20/3/2018 15:32 | Director buying is irrelevant when the management team has lost the confidence of the market. | the original goldbug
20/3/2018 09:32 | I mean, the chairman and CEO both purchased £100ks worth each, and the most the neds have been buying £20k and £30k odd? | zcaprd7 |
