agree Gary.. id say the least risk asset now is halifax as lancaster lincoln and haliax almost clumped together...... i think the share price wil reflect the derisking post halifax.... and there maybe buyers in for halifax to get the share price above or towards 60p..

I think HUR will hit 60p before Brent crude oil hits 60$.

Halifax is going to be another great result Plus data room opening will send HUR towards 60p.2017 is going to be a very exciting year for Hurricane Energy.

At least a month after that, are they not looking to flow test Halifax as well?

Without raining on anyone's parade do remember Hurricane will drill a dud well at some point. It's not all oil and it certainly isn't as easy as it has appeared of late. But all these successive hits would sugggest we are knee deep in the black stuff!

So when is the betting we will have the results from Halifax? My guess is 31st of January?

No probs guys, yes genl not for widows or orphans but very beaten up as it stands and reading between the lines most if not all and more of the potential negatives are priced in.. Back to hur looks like 50p will be here soon...

Hi gregpeck7,

I used to hold GENL in view of risk/reward but with Russia/Iran/Turkey ganging up with Assad - and none of those 4 liking the Kurds - the headwinds seem a bit strong at the moment.

Mind you, if the new US/ Exxon Secretary of State gets on the phone to Putin for some kind of 'grand bargain', that might Trump (geddit?) my reservations....

Hehe he plays a pretty straight bat and did not disclose.. the only other 'stick' we discussed ( and bear in mind this was probably 5 to 10 mins over a whole day) was genl.. he is pretty bullish about the risk reward prospects there...

To be honest at just shy of 50p or so with a distinct possibility of 85 to 105p is better than a post office book account

Hi gregpeck7,

Thanks for taking on board so well my somewhat jaundiced view ;->

Now, what we'd really, really like to know is what your City friend is invested in that, taking account of the scenario described, he reckons is better than HUR......

Now THAT would be something to share !

Interesting points guys, but I do listen to this chap as he put me onto hurricane in the first place in the 20's and suggested it was worth a look... I am just passing on his thoughts and based on conversations I have had in the past he is right more than he is wrong... And don't get me wrong he thinks hurricane is a cracking play just does not see things playing out here how others do...

"Although his personal view was that the takeout price would be 85 - 105p and not some of the higher numbers that have been talked about...."

gregpeck7 - Let's see what the Halifax numbers come in at first. As Dr T says: "This really is an exciting well." and he isn't kidding, it's:

1/ 30K from Lancaster (18.6 Miles in old money).

2/ It's along the same Rona ridge.

3/ The aim is to prove up 'mobile' oil outside of the 'structural closure'.

4/ Then(as if the above wasn't enough) and this is the big one (it frightens me a little actually to think of this as I suspect Dr T thinks this could well be the case here) Then to drill Halifax deeper to hit the oil / water contact point. If the contact point is similar to Lancaster then that as Dr T says "Goes someway to proving it could be a single accumulation between Lancaster and Halifax".....So what price then?

Seasons greetings all.
