HMCX at yesterday's low of 1673.3p has now declined (18.55%) from its 2018 ath of 2054.5p. More or less in line with FTSE250 performance. We are probably in some variety of Bear but, short-term, there should be c10.00%+ available when the end of Down Phase rally gets underway.

Made a nice 20% gain from ANTO since I bought earlier this year. Pity though that much of that gain has been absorbed by the losses on POLYSurprised that gold continues to be so weak.

I've now put our portfolio in a defensive position and sold most of our individual company shares. Just 18 shares now, mostly trackers with just a few smaller companies. Currently Up about 4% YTD. Waiting for a Segmental correction now before Adding more weight to Long side.

We've also kept hold of a small amount of WG. and have decided to stick with it bearing in mind the frenzy over Oil stocks right now and the reasonable TU.

In fact, Resource stocks are flying again and, due to your overweight position in Oil & Miners, I reckon you must be on the verge of overtaking our portfolio even though we are still doing well - Up 04.20% YTD?

Most of our 44 individual company shares are now at minimum holding levels and I will just wait until they've eased back before Adding again. Our other 7 shares still include a fair bit of XS2D & HMCX as well as a large dollop of XUKS. Overall we have 60.6% of Portfolio in Longs, 14.0% Short & 25.4% Cash.

Today is Day 31 of the current Up Segment and @ the earlier 7712 FTSE has now put on 12.31%. I now believe this is the first Segment in a new Phase of the Secular Bull but I still doubt whether the current high of 7793 will be bested in the current climb. It may get close and it is quite likely that the current Segment will drag on for another 10-15 days or so before the first correction.

In the previous Phase, the initial correction was severe with a [68.82%] give back (5500:6427:5789) but that was at the beginning of a Cyclical Bull and I suspect the give back after the current Segment will be less severe, perhaps c[55.00%]. So, we could be looking at a gradual, summertime, decline of c(06.00%) leading to c7250 followed by further progress to new highs starting in the Autumn.

Consequently, my strategy is to keep just about all of our Long Shares but I have now reduced most down to a minimal holding with the intention of Adding back towards the end of the correction.

As well as maintaining our FTSE short position, once America regathers its momentum, I intend to exchange or supplement our existing S&P 500 leveraged Long (XS2D) with its sister fund, the leveraged Short (XT2D). This should help mitigate any portfolio declines whilst the markets are in correction mode.

FTSE at 7700 today, your target has been reached. Surprised at its strength, as a number of the large caps went ex dividend today.

Yes, nearly there already...today's 7683 has extended the Segmental gains to 11.88% in 30 days. It can either be viewed as the start of a new Phase of the Secular Bull (despite serious geopolitical concerns) or an 88.12% recovery of the 51 day decline (7793:6867) which, perversely, accrued (11.88%) tow the downside.

Tough decision now...any further strength could lead me to cash most of our Long holdings which currently represent 62.3% of our Portfolio. We now hold a UK Short which is 12.1% of our portfolio as well as 25.6% in cash.

Astonishing turnaround in the Markets since early March. Have fundamentals changed that much? No.But sentiment certainly has.Is oil heading for $100? If so, that might lead to a Global slowdown.Where next? Any ideas Pat?

FTSE @ Wednesday's intraday high of 7573 has now rallied 10.28% in 25 days which represents a 76.24% recovery of the 51 day, (11.88%) decline (7793:6867). Despite all the geopolitical turmoil, primarily fuelled by USA & UK at behest of Israel & Saudi Arabia, the start of a new Phase of the Secular Bull looks to be, unashamedly, in play.

My guess is that this initial Segment will put on c12.00% and reach c7691 some time this month or early June.
