Good to see Utilities recovering this week

Agreed. I haven't posted any alerts cos I've been heavily involved in researching and twittering about the various scandals and atrocities recently carried out by UK and other Governments...market watching has, unusually, been on the back burner for me.

I haven't bought anything or topped up much for several days now...as at yesterday, FTSE has put in a 14 day, 06.71% Up wave so a move back to c7150 is highly likely even if the 19 day (recovery) Segment (thus far) has more legs. We finished yesterday @ 62.9% invested.

Added to a couple of shares today. Then the DOW drops. Typical!

I'm a bit more in cash than last month. Also bought a little more of the gold miner, Polymetal.

Yes, it was mostly about Resources yesterday...even so, our portfolio went to +00.10% for the YTD. Taken quite a bit off the table now...just 63.3% (All Long) invested with rest in cash.

Finished the week on 76.9% invested (all Long) and 23.1% in cash. Let's hope we live long enough to get to spend it!

Have either of you bailed out yet?

We are still 78.2% invested (all Long).

Nor mine (WG.)!

It was indeed a slightly psychotic day for the UK market although Defensives, especially Utilities, were due a decent rally. We are having a poor week and were even slightly down today. I'm not sure exactly why especially as the takeover interest in SHP lifted our portfolio nearly 0.3% on its own...I guess its just that we had too many shares down and many of our shares are having large % drops almost on a daily basis.

No biggie though, as our current investments are only about (03.25%) down and portfolio is only down c(03.00%) YTD and any sort of half decent rally should put us in the black. Cashed some SHP today near highs but still 81.4% invested with 18.6% in cash.

Goodness knows how low WG. is going to go. Not a wise buy on my part there!

Very strong day for Utilities. Though other sectors well down. The sporadic strong showing of certain sectors on different days, suggests to me that many shares have been oversold. NG. & PNN still look very oversold to me.

I hold far too many WG.Whole sector seems to have problems. Should have sold out a while back. Could have bailed out with about a 5% loss.No desire to average down though.

Are you still holding WG., Gateside?

Unfortunately, we are but there seems to be something rotten in the state of Denmark but what is the root cause of it - AMEC, FOSTER WHEELER or WOOD GROUP itself or is it the whole frigging industry?
