Easyjet pilots redundancies not happening just yet. Its been delayed to see who is up for part time working etc. Not sure how this benefits easyjet shareholders as they will have to pay for extra line checks and sim tests for the extra pilots they don't need

Given that there were zero flights from the UK to Portugal before the ban was lifted, shouldn’t the increase be infinite, rather than ‘300%’??

Holiday bookings for Portugal have surged since the country was lifted off the Covid-19 risk list.

One resort reported a 300% increase from the UK hours after the travel ban ended.

The Quinta do Lago golf resort in Algarve, Portugal, said its phones “had not stopped ringing” since the nation was given air bridge status. A number of easyJet flights from London airports to destinations across Portugal heading out today and tomorrow were sold out.

Average cost of tickets to Algarve gateway Faro soared from £35 to £190 while flights to Lisbon rose from £55 to £185 within hours of Transport Secretary Grant Shapps’ announcement.

Then all of a sudden, case numbers could start to rapidly rise, which will most probably be the case due to the influx of tourist leading Portugal to become a high risk country and being taken off the green list.

Then many of the British tourist will complain they either have to quarantine for 14 days when they return home of prices for flight tickets will double or even treble,

As the saying goes "a fool and their money are easily parted." And anyone booking a holiday outside of their country at the moment is acting unwisely.

At the moment outside of the UK, the only place I would be booking a holiday to is the Republic of Ireland, or in other words remaining inside of the CTA (Common Travel Area)
