I'm from london, social distancing in pubs and bars is none existence. Unfortunately I cannot echo the same sentiment they are safe. Once people have had a few drinks social distancing goes out the window.

If you think pubs in general, like yours, are social distancing then surely locking them down instead of the schools will be pointless.I've been to the pub once since lockdown but many BBQ parties and play dates where everyone talks about social distancing and that's about the limit of it. Talk.Yesterday's party had two teacher friends of mine, both not sure what to make of it and talk of bubbles etc but one wants to wear a mask full time due to the risk in class and then he's concerned that he won't be allowed to do this or won't teach effectively with it on.

Younger children are not the problem. Have you heard of many (any?) children catching the virus?

It's the 14-25 year olds who are ignoring the basic requests for social distancing.

I went to the local pub last Friday and there was plenty of space and social distancing was clearly being maintained.

I prefer pubs to be shut....people in pubs struggle to social distance.

Lockdown the BAME areas, close mosques and large gatherings and the problem goes away......

However, these daily confirmed case numbers released by the Department of Health and Social Care mask the fact that the number of tests being carried out is also increasing - and these tests are targeted at areas where infection rates are highest.

As BBC health correspondent Nick Triggle points out, if you are testing more, you are likely to find more cases. And if you look at the percentage of tests coming back positive, the rise in cases becomes marginal, once daily fluctuations are taken into account, he says.

Separate data released on Friday from the Office of National Statistics (ONS), which surveys a sample of households in England for current infection - not including care homes or hospitals - also suggests the rise in cases may be levelling off.

I see three options:1. Lock down schools = future damage2. Lock down economy= further damage3. Lock down recreational sites (shops, pubs etc) = social unrestWhich are they going to choose? They can't maintain R=1 or less because we are there right now.I wouldn't like to be Boris right now.

Unfortunately this might hit the 500 mark again due to the uncertainty of france and because some people do not wear masks.
