Chesty,

I also fly out to Mallorca EZJ Oct 1.
It only cost £83 return including luggage so that's all I have risked so far.

I will only book my accomodation the week before flying.

Having said that, if my partner didn't work, I'd be there now on a one way ticket.
Sick to death of the doom and gloom UK.

I am actually looking at getting away for a short break in September using EZJ

Currently seriously cheap & only 29 seats taken on the whole flight!

How can they make money out of this as the flight back is also dead.

It's being reported since the quarantine from Spain has come into effect some 10,000 people have cancelled their flights to Spain.

mallorca yes I am going to Alicante next week with EZY but I have noticed there is a lot more seats available since weekend. And by the way the words spoken were by the culture secretary not mine

TUI have now cancelled all holidays to the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands until Tuesday 4 August, and all holidays to mainland Spain until Monday 10 August.

Jet2 have cancelled flights to the Balearics and Canaries until August 10 and trips to mainland Spain until August 17.

I've been hearing that Belgium is the next most likely country to be taken off UK's Green list of counties.

There is also a push to have the quarantine time reduced from the current 14 days to 10 days to bring the UK in line with Norway.

I think that it's much more likely to go the other way , ie, a relaxation of the current rules.

Either way, I fly to Mallorca shortly and will enjoy a lovely relaxing holiday.
As I trade full time and can do that from anywhere , I've no rush to come back to the UK.

Also , within the UK ... it appears to be OK for a resident of highly infected Leicester to book a holiday and travel to, no infections Cornwall.

As with the initial spread of Covid, many of the resurgence of Covid infections is being caused by the airline industry...The Covid virus is spreading at the speed of the airlines.

If most of the airline industry had been shut down from the very start of Covid and continued to be shut down and kept on life support by governments then there is a good chance that 500,000 people who are now dead due to Covid would not have been.
