EI, it’s not just a case of getting a successful vaccine - it’s got to be:
1. Scalable to billions of doses - most experts think that could take a further 12 months past the point when it’s approved
2. Enough people have got to agree to be vaccinated - early indications are that only about 60% of people would take it (which isn’t enough)
3. It has to provide long lasting immunity (which it may well not - 3 months immunity is consensus)
4. The virus must have Not mutated in the meantime
The chance of all 4 happening is low in my view.
That’s one of the reasons I think airlines are screwed.

RYA is Up around 5% over the last 12 months, that may change tomorrow!.

Given COVID, a European recession and a balance sheet with less cash than 12
months ago, that's borderline incredible.

The best longer term sector play by some margin imv, may be available under 9 again and don't see any particular rush to buy atm (might be wrong on that).

IAG possibly worth a look if they get a fundraise away?.

If a successful COVID vaccine is available next year, the sector outlook is transformed,
still a big IF at this stage.

I think it's sick of anyone to buy Ryanair shares at a time when everyone knows they are not refunding many cancelled flights.

At least Easyjet aren't crooks.

EI,Agree. People's livelihoods are on the line here. I still think EZJ is better placed than other companies like DTG (package holidays and airline) and other European competitors to ride out this storm. Even IAG holders are about to take a savaging.Cash

EI what do you think will happen tomorrow? Is this a buy/hold/sell?

If someone is short and anticipates a share price decline, that is fair enough.

However, to take apparent glee from the industry in extreme difficulty, without
any position, is sad. These are people's livelihoods. They are also taxpayers
And it's other UK taxpayers who ultimately end up paying for this, through tax crisis to come at this stage.

There is a particular poster here who appears to have previously worked in the industry with a very large chip on his shoulder?. Perhaps he underperformed while
employed and was overlooked for promotion?, very sad.

I have no sector holdings atm but will go long RYA at some stage .

Most of these idiots can't read and as far as the FCO is concerned they wouldn't have a clue on what it is innit!

On Easyjets web site this morning:

Still thinking of Alicante in July. Pick up where you left off...Book Flights..........Knowing how stupid many Brits are, seeing this I can see many still booking flights and holidays thinking every thing is going to be OK then complain when it is not.

Anybody who says they didn't know Spain may be taken off the Green list, on Thursday it was being reported all day that the airbridge to Spain could be axed with no notice.

Even on the FCO web site says that any country on the Green list may be taken off with little notice.

Therefore anybody who books to holiday or fly outside the UK they know at any time with little to no notice that the country they're flying to can be taken off the green list therefore they bare the responsibility for their decision to leave the UK during this time.
