Why 1p ? There not cancelling flights or giving cash refunds. Slow down in sales growth is likely the issue.

Written statement: Coronavirus quarantine measures for travellers arriving in Wales from Spain - Vaughan Gething MS, Minister for Health and Social Services:

I have therefore made an urgent amendment to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (Wales) Regulations 2020, meaning anyone who arrives from Spain (or who has been in Spain during the past 14 days) will be required to quarantine for 14 days as of tomorrow.

easyJet, also expressed its disappointment that the Government had shut down the travel corridor with Spain because "the increased occurrence of coronavirus is regional rather than nationwide".

In a statement, easyJet said it planned to operate a full schedule "in the coming days", adding that customers no longer wishing to travel could seek to transfer their flights without a fee or receive a voucher

Only upside is some of that money will now be spent in the UK.

Approx 18 million Brits holiday in Spain each year, that's a boatload of money.

Not good for Ryanair - FAA has ordered a round of emergency inspections of about 2,000 Boeing 737 “Next Generation” as it turns out the engines on these aircraft are at risk of corroding over – and failing mid-flight – after being put into storage for months amid the current pandemic-induced flight slowdown.

According to the FAA valves within the engine being corroded after months of being stuck on the ground they get stuck and remain in the “open” position during flight. If that happens, the report explains, it could result “in an unrecoverable compressor stall and the inability to restart the engine.”

In other words, when these valves are stuck (or rusted) open, the 737's engine loses power more quickly than it should, and “without the ability to restart,” according to the report. If that happens, the plane could be forced into an “off-airport landing,” which means, uh, exactly what you think it means.

Looking grim now for airlines - summer holidays are literally just starting then this gets announced - couldn’t be worse timing. And this sort of very short notice announcement will probably be the final nail in the coffin for anyone planning to book anything for the remainder of the year.
