08/1/2018 09:04 | Bums on seats or load factor will be slightly higher in this period due to MON effect. Have reports that planes going to canaries are very full. As I said previously I think very close to 2.5 m holidays in current year ending March. Not much we can do or hope for until we get that trading update. There only remains one mystery for me now. What will we replace the 757 fleet with? Tiger | castleford tiger
08/1/2018 08:11 | Nice chart and looks a solid company | nw99
07/1/2018 17:25 | Many thanks Tiger for all your detailed analysis. 2018 looks like being a great year for dart. Do you see any data on bums on seats, or is that kept close? | shaker44
07/1/2018 16:12 | Currently 50% 40 planes in the air. Tiger | castleford tiger
07/1/2018 16:07 | Manchester this summer the base will be 12xB737-800 (1 standby) 7x B757-200’s (1standby) 2xA330-200’s GVYGL & GVYGM STN will have GPOWN based plus another A321 with 212 seats. In BHX they may be seeing a primeria A321 with 220seats - Operator TBC Talk of STN doubling operations. Also handling being brought in house. Talk of at least 2 or 3 A330 for current year with up to 5 for next. Overall there is massive expansion going on and London has gone down really well. Its all looking pretty good but expect some costs associated with this kind of growth. TC seems to be walking away from the market DART are after. Tiger | castleford tiger
05/1/2018 19:38 | You just need to walk through London shopping centres to see the new TCG stores and to know that Jet2.com is on fire. TCG have thrown in the towel at the budget end and going after the bigger spenders. I'm not sure this will work. I'm yet to see more than 1 customer in the stores. Also customers are telling market research firms that they are spending more on experiences and that cutting back on the family is a v low priority for household budgets. w1 | woozle1

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We are delighted to be expanding our ski programme and offering customers more choice on our award-winning airline than ever before. People’s minds are turning to the slopes, as we have seen a jump in bookings in September which bodes well for the season ahead. “Weekend breaks and short breaks are proving increasingly popular so we have accommodated this by putting on more flights to suit those skiers, making it easier than ever to head to the Alps for a short ski break. With these friendly flight times, alongside 22kg of baggage and ski allowance, we’re confident of a very busy and popular ski season this winter.” To launch the programme, we are also offering half price ski carriage on flights to Geneva, Grenoble, Salzburg, Turin and Lyon from all nine of our UK bases. The promotion applies if you make a new booking between yesterday (19th September 2017) and 12th October 2017, and are travelling between 30th November 2017 and 30th April 2018 on any of the above routes. So book before 12th October and you’ll save a whopping £25 on your ski carriage (normally £50 return). There’s snow way you’ll want to miss out! See www.Jet2.com/ski for more. | castleford tiger
05/1/2018 18:15 | THIS IS SOME GROWTH.......... We have examined bookings data to look at holiday trends for 2018, and they have turned up some very interesting findings. By looking at Jet2holidays bookings, we can reveal the up-and-coming destinations for 2018, as well as the most popular family getaways and best city hotspots, as city break bookings become more and more popular. Looking at booking patterns year on year, there are some interesting shifts in destination choices. Britons know a good deal when they see it, as bookings to Turkey are seeing a huge surge for 2018 thanks to its range of 2-5 star hotels, rich culture, endless sun and fantastic value. On the back of that demand, we have increased capacity by over 600,000 seats, and have seen a fourfold increase in bookings to Antalya, with bookings to Bodrum and Dalaman more than doubling. It’s not just Turkey bringing in the crowds. Italy and Croatia are also seeing huge growth, as are the Greek Islands and Cyprus. We are seeing more and more customers looking to explore new and undiscovered regions, which is demonstrated by the growth in bookings to Costa de Almeria and Halkidiki | castleford tiger
05/1/2018 18:12 | no............ but I bet you my 2.5m holidays is pretty close in current year. Pretty sure these are due a serious re rating and my money is on this year. The new fleet are bigger 737/800`s so increased numbers and reduced seat costs Tiger | castleford tiger
05/1/2018 11:28 | Thanks Tiger, Makes it easier to sleep at night knowing that there are plenty of planes in the air.. Any way of telling passenger numbers ? SP | snorkelparker
05/1/2018 11:11 | THINK THEY HAVE just 10 based there . I will check that figure. tiger | castleford tiger
05/1/2018 10:59 | Pretty good in a notoriously quiet period, but I am surprised there are not more out of stansted. | shaker44
05/1/2018 09:13 | Yes but that's always the case. It is possible to get the full schedule of flights operated by JET2. Winter is very quiet but today before 12 lunch we have 11 flights from Leeds 8 Manchester 4 east midlands 6 London stanstead 5 Birmingham that's 34 without Scotland /NI. Clearly as you say the earlier shorter flights may have flown and be on turnaround by the time a longer route starts. If over half the fleet is flying in very early January during the week I think that's pretty good. At 9.10 am there are 23 in the air. Tiger | castleford tiger
05/1/2018 07:55 | So not really indicative of activity, as many more May be on turnaround etc, without transponder activated? | shaker44
05/1/2018 06:40 | 22 were in the Air working at the time of the check. There maybe more working but it only records with transponder on so at point of take off /flying /or just landed. Tiger | castleford tiger
04/1/2018 18:11 | Hiya Tiger, What does 22 aircraft live mean ? Rgds SP | snorkelparker

21/12/2017 22:18 | More stunning insight from the Bell End shiner! | woozle1
19/12/2017 21:14 | It may be true it could go to £10 (incidentally that would correspond to a whopping 80fold increase from 2008 lows) by then but downside is far bigger than upside CT - the unbelievable DTG ride (from 12p almost 10 years back) is much, much closer to finish than folks like to think. Here's one of the best quotes ever from one of the best managers of all time: "Buying a cyclical after several years of record earnings and when the P/E ratio has hit a low point is a proven method for losing half your money in a short period of time" - PETER LYNCH Cyclical / record earnings / low vals. Fair to say DTG ticks all these boxes? | tongosti
17/12/2017 12:31 | Some good but conservative numbers in there. The holiday division will be 2.4/2.5m for the year so at least 600k bringing in revenue of 400,00. I expect revenue 2nd half to be nearer 800k. As many costs are fixed this is crucial in getting to a bottom figure. Either way I still see 10.00 by 2020 as a very fair target. tiger | castleford tiger |
