02/10/2017 09:23 | It just proves the point that shorting successfully requires far more skill than just waffling about moving average and changes in momentum. | alphahunter
02/10/2017 08:25 | jet2 shares up 5%, the stock market doesn't have time for being sentimental.... | nakedsteve
02/10/2017 08:14 | It is a great pity that Monarch have failed as I liked their product. TA. Most of the holidays should be covered by ATOL but obviously more of a problem if they are due to go in the near future as they will have booked time of work. | minky
02/10/2017 08:13 | certainly gave better service than easyjet AND ryanair.Sad that we all book on cheapest price. I think most of their staff will get re-employed by competitors. The flight/holiday demand is still there. It will just be fullfilled by others. | shaker44
02/10/2017 08:05 | I used to like flying on Monarch but they have been too pricey in recent years | spob
02/10/2017 08:03 | Monarch employed 3000 people most of those are now out of work Monarch has been going since 1968 ! they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary next year very sad | spob
02/10/2017 07:42 | never mind the families, if you're gonna be sentimental how about all the staff who have just lost their job! but i guess this board is about the stock market so it is exactly the time to talk about the financial fall out from this.... | nakedsteve
02/10/2017 07:34 | I know it's business but just feels a bit unsavoury picking over the assets while the corpse is still warm. My heart goes out to those families who thought they were off on holiday today.... | shaker44
02/10/2017 07:16 | My guess is that EZJ will move hard and fast to stop Jet2 in Luton. | woozle1
02/10/2017 06:02 | Would be great if could pick up a new Base and some additional routes. Wouldn't imagine their pilots are champing at the bit to join RYAN.. So let's hope this really plays out in jet2 favour they must be the best position to capitalise on this.. reduction of competition in the north and a great boost in the south.. wonder if our friends shorting are going to add a nice bit of fuel to the price | snorkelparker
02/10/2017 05:56 | Thought that receivership was the only way this was going.. Just didn't make sense anyone stepping in under the current financial situation. Hope jet2 has the capacity to pick up the slack. All very interesting stuff.. | snorkelparker
01/10/2017 14:32 | Are we about to get a new base in the SE? w1 | woozle1
30/9/2017 19:58 | same as this time last year | wilddcw
30/9/2017 14:13 | Monarch possible administration Sky news | spob
28/9/2017 12:51 | Good seeing bulls observing the share price! | tongosti
28/9/2017 11:11 | fly baby fly! | castleford tiger
28/9/2017 10:17 | Looks like it might be moving, but be more encouraging if there was some more volume, maybe get a bit more momentum if there are shorts out there needing to cover. don't want to tempt fate but feel a up leg isn't far away, assuming BREXIT news is benign. | snorkelparker
26/9/2017 16:44 | The greatest fear is always loosing a plane or having a bad accident. The £ dropping to parity would not be a great help to DART. Other than that NO Monarch in trouble again..........bette Ryan .............well has to help. Poor August/Sept in uk weatherwise helps. Market has us stuck in 500/530 rut but it will jump later this year maybe needs the 200 million profit in first half as a trigger tiger | castleford tiger
26/9/2017 15:38 | tiger - If you're really pushed to highlight one (or two) area(s) of concern which may have an adverse impact on your bullish case, what would they be (if any)? | tongosti
26/9/2017 08:59 | Was at LBA again yesterday ( mid pm) and it was like mid summer with at least 6 jet 2 planes taking off whilst I was at the meeting. Load factors still very high. You maybe right re Monarch , however in a fire sale we may do ok. They have lost their way. How do we get stats on the big two holiday companies re volume? I feel at 2.5m we must have second spot. filling planes with punters on holiday is a masterstroke as it means they don't have to let very cheap seats go. Huge feeling against RYN even my Girls who take the cheapest option every time have said no more and that's widespread. Tiger | castleford tiger
24/9/2017 05:23 | All very interesting, Don't think Mr Meeson will be interested in anything but assets on the cheap, the client base and any worthwhile staff will gravitate to companies like Jet 2. When a business like DART is expanding in a tough climate while others are folding it means only one thing, momentum, more market share, more pricing power more, quantum of profits and more dividends.. just shows how important a good man at the top is ...turning 70 in a few weeks he seems top of his game long may that last. I wouldn't bet against Monarch heading to the liquidators.. | snorkelparker
23/9/2017 18:22 | Personally I think Ryanairs silly war with pilots will run a long time yet. And I thought O'leary would be more interested in a hub outside uk post brexit, not lgw. But we can be sure your chairman will not overpay for any monarch assets | shaker44 |
