16/12/2017 12:53 | I know JET 2 just voted equal second in the latest WHICH public survey.( Airline survey) BA was about 17th. . I also have bought more tiger | castleford tiger
16/12/2017 12:29 | Seems a bit quiet on the volume front 3 weeks of weakening price with declining volume, been buying from end Nov to today, so another 30k purchased hoping for a low volume pull back prior to another move up. Interesting a large purchase approx 300k shares went through after Friday close or it's an error on my trading account, stock closing at 6.82 after a weak days trading. does anyone have a view or info on what happened to the previous made provisions in connection with EU flight delay compensation and the cost incurred of back claims made ? A paragraph in the last annual report stating that measures made where prudent, just wondering at what stage is any write back likely. | snorkelparker
05/12/2017 11:40 | Nope. Check it out. 4k is all up. Google is your friend. At 90mpg fuel goes a long way... | shaker44
05/12/2017 10:03 | I think the 4k an hour is fuel. So my 15 is close. The other costs are pretty much fixed. Tiger | castleford tiger
04/12/2017 19:06 | That sounds way too low if you factor in staff costs, maintenance, fuel etc. If it was that cheap, you could hire a plane and fly all your mates to Spain for a jolly! | woozle1
04/12/2017 16:35 | Tiger, If you Google how much does it cost to fly a commercial airliner for 1 hour, there is a really interesting breakdown on Quora. About £4k an hour, all in for 737 | shaker44
04/12/2017 16:06 | That's true Tiger. At that point they should be playing gotcha! | shaker44
04/12/2017 16:03 | the bit that worried me was the 40quid for a last min flight. Tiger | castleford tiger
04/12/2017 15:42 | Sure! But if they had applied the normal fee would you have chosen a different airline next time? It is surely about our expectations of budget airlines? In a couple of days I am flying for 3 hours on Singapore airlines Silkair budget carrier. Actually the fares are not that cheap but my expectation is that I will have to pay for any extras. Like catching a bus. | shaker44
04/12/2017 14:37 | I think you only have to look at the growth over the last few years of Jet2 and Jet2 holidays to see they are doing the job right.I thought the boarding card gesture to a friendly outgoing lad line me was excellent PR! I had had a difficult morning!! | 1pvh
04/12/2017 14:25 | Disagree. You may feel ryanair go overboard on maximising fees, but in the extraordinarily price sensitive fare search for budget airlines, fees are a vital component. I don't think they gained anything giving up fees this late Booker expected to pay. I am a big proponent of working on customer retention, but not by easy unnecessary fee giveaways. | shaker44
04/12/2017 14:03 | shaker, that's exactly what you want to see. Waiving the boarding fee is the cheapest way of retaining customers: give them something for free and they'll keep coming back. w1 | woozle1
04/12/2017 13:03 | Ha ha! Think the divvi is very safe Shaker. I booked the flight about 6am and the flight take off time was 10.50. Online check in shuts 5 hours before take off. I must have charmed them! Also mentioned I'm a shareholder. Sometimes works. | 1pvh
04/12/2017 12:43 | Great to see positive customer experiences. Thank you. Not sure I am happy they Let you off your boarding card fees though. Might hit my divvy!! | shaker44

28/11/2017 13:01 | Forecast says 2017-03-31 1,729.30 90.10 51.80p 10.0 -0.7 -14% 5.27p 1.0% Turnover for the year 1.729 m we recorded 1.663 in first half. I think close to 2.5 is possible. Figures are miles out tiger | castleford tiger
28/11/2017 12:56 | try To get to 52.7p they must loose 115m in the winter which is HIGHER than last year. 52P is a similar result to last year and miles away from reality. I think there are newer figures than this out ( I happen to think they are still wrong ) I think 70p is fair. tiger | castleford tiger
28/11/2017 11:48 | They could probably have capitalised at least some of start up, but as typical, their accounting is very conservative | shaker44
28/11/2017 11:32 | Castleford Tiger - thanks. Consensus earnings are up from 40p to 52.7p in the current year. But maybe not all brokers have updated their forecasts. Interesting to note that startup costs aren't really recurring in nature. So they should be taken out of the picture to get an idea of recurring earnings. | trytotakeiteasy
27/11/2017 18:33 | try the figures you are basing the 14.8 on are going to be smashed. 2nd half last year had substantial start up costs at new bases. I guess the ride will just be lumpy until we get proper coverage. It may drift a little and then jump around march when the co announce they expect to beat forecasts. Looking at TC who are going nowhere at least we have a future that is bright. tiger | castleford tiger
27/11/2017 11:25 | They always low ball the numbers. | woozle1
27/11/2017 10:47 | Tiger - Article is just a journalists writeup. It doesn't really understand Dart or the context of the company. Forward P/E I have for the next 12 months currently is 14.8X (Stockopedia). I think you are stating that Dart Group historically traded below 13X? The article is somewhat negative and cautious. For example, saying that the CEO expects winter losses this year. They always generate losses in winter. The article also implies that difficult conditions have led to a decline in airfares. However, this is partly due to expansion and partly as the industry has passed on the benefit of lower fuel prices. It doesn't mention that package holiday prices for Dart increased. This will have been the main profit driver given that package holidays are higher margin. Instead the article focuses on airfares. The final conclusion is perhaps wrong. Saying that the P/E is low due to concerns of rising capacity in the sector. Capacity growth has come down due to recent events. | trytotakeiteasy
25/11/2017 08:18 | Oh dear me the IC article is so, so bad again. If this is the standard of journalism in this magazine then its best used in the bathroom. Its just an accurate picture or description of the company. We mistake revenue for profit and well its not worth repeating. Did you all know that DTG is trading at 13x forecast earnings which is below what its traded at historically? Really 13x. very poor anyway. They have it as a hold at 658p Tigeraaaaaaaaaa | castleford tiger |
