Hmm as it would be illegal for someone to have insight into results before they are released my suspicion is this a short term bear raid fuelled by malicious rumour. I don't believe someone would be so stupid and expose themselves to legal action if they really had genuine insight.

Incidentally the results meeting this year is likely to be on the 29th.

This is a three to five year growth story and although I have no idea on current trading the business model long term is very much intact. Institutions will come in and mop up any weak selling as they have done in the past.

I think it's a great business, keeping up with the huge sales gains year on year with the new larger business model was always going to be a big ask.

Evil - thanks
I drove past Hellaby on Monday - have dropped in for a chat in the past but was in a bit of a hurry this trip. Rather wish I'd taken a 10 minute detour!
We're long term holders and are heavily overweight - otherwise I might look at a small top up.
I've met Collett/Richardson twice at post result briefings and been v v impressed.

i actually said LFL sales. As in stores included in LFL sales data in the results!
Please see previews results, the two are separate figures, with LFL being the more significant.
So in lay terms, sales figures not including new store openings!!

With the number of new stores they have opened in last 12 months would be very unlikely sales are down and would expect increase in sales with all the new stores now online.. I see today's dip as excellent opportunity to get a bargain!

I would prefer not to say, but i can tell you that it was not from a random person.
But as always take what you read on this BB with a pinch of salt and DYOR.
Need long term investors worry about any short term sale weakness?
Maybe not!
i have no cross to bear against CRAW and i am not short!
i have not checked, can you even borrow stock on this to short?

Is that first hand - by visiting the factory outlet? Or from someone working in the distrib centre?
Thanks

A late recorded/reported sell from 8.16 this morning (100K @ 72.5p) appears to have been what did the damage today!

I am hearing from Hellaby that sales are sluggish.
I expect LFL sales to be down circa 5%
I put it to you that on any traditional measurement of value, the shares are grossly overvalued!

Thanks for that info Extrader,
We also have K McMeikan from Greggs on the team who bought 180K shares on his appointment this year, his wife also
bought 180K shares...that shows some commitment :-)
The team Crawshaws has in place now should auger well for the future development of the group.

Hi again optomistic,

Our Chairman is Richard Rose, who's also Chair at AO., Quindell and ANP. He was also Chair at Booker Group and Whittards Tea (IIRC). So a bit of a mixed bag, with some great successes and some 'racier' connections IMO.

I've seen him at a Mello event, he seems a 'hands-on' people person, good at bringing out the best in his team.....

Neil's the 'doer', Richard is the 'seer'.

Let's hope they can work their magic at CRAW.

Morning Extrader, I must admit that I had never heard of ANP until your post.
You say that we share the same chairman, S ROSE, I know that our CEO is Noel Collett who I think will have the most influence on the direction of CRAW...but who knows :-/

Over the last few days trading where the sells had had the most prominence my thoughts were that as the share price had held, that perhaps the brokers were in the process of collecting stock for say Hargreave Hale who have been building their position in CRAW recently.
But whatever it's not a good direction of movement this morning, just hope that the interims are good.

Hi optomistic,

Nah, it's just read - across from ANP's results today , who share our Chairman.....

I don't know better, either ;->

Thanks optomistic... I just noticed last year they posted a trading update on the 17th before the interims and wondered if we may get something in the next few days or if they will roll them all into the interims?

Buyers are scarce again this morning...but I do think that the 2988 sell @ 79.9999p could well be a buy 'in disguise'
...anyone owning up to that on here :-)

50th shop...perhaps the CFO, Alan Richardson is thinking about the bottom line and has tightened the reigns a little, good practise not to bound ahead too quickly IMO.
On the other hand the CEO after his development of Liddle could be chomping on the bit to make progress...all a question of balance and agreement within the board as to how fast we move ahead.
Waiting eagerly for the ints.

ps just you on the buy side so far today tadders...hope it's the best buy price this year :-)
