14/7/2016 11:08 | Lots of decent size buying out there this morning. Has it been tipped or mentioned somewhere ? Incidentally the Manchester store I went in earlier this year had chicken nibbles/nuggets in a couple of flavoured coatings which seemed to be very popular with the kids. | davidosh
12/7/2016 14:14 | mr hangman 12 Jul'16 - 11:01 - 3935 of 3936 0 0 When we leave the EU, it will be interesting to see, where we find the staff to man our shops, can't see our kids doing it .................... Mr hangman, maybe it's different in your area but in my town in South Yorks we have two Crawshaw's and I haven't noticed any staff that appear in looks or sound like immigrants in either shop. Yet there are plenty of them around the town, so much so it sounds like all the locals are learning a foreign language ;-) | optomistic
12/7/2016 11:45 | Hangers.....The two Crawshaw stores that I visited had shop staff with very local accents and good knowledge of everything in the local community. The north of England has a reasonably good labour supply and the training and recruitment process is working like clockwork now IMO. | davidosh

11/7/2016 00:21 | It looks to me like they have six stores set to open within this Summer Burnley Kidderminster Gorton Southport Bradford Tamworth However not necessarily in that order. At that rate maybe they can open 20 this year. | davidosh
10/7/2016 21:09 | Think Bradford is ahead of Tamworth / Kidderminster / Gorton (Mcr) | mcmather
10/7/2016 19:31 | I should have added...where will that be ? | tadders2
10/7/2016 19:28 | So are we still having a celebration for the opening of the 50th store ? | tadders2
10/7/2016 12:34 | From the summary intro on LinkedIn...It looks like the company are now aiming to open 20 this year rather than the previous 15 target.... As well as the butchers, cooks and general assistants that we are looking for to join the team, we are seeking experienced retail managers to lead the 20 stores that we will be opening in 2016. For details of the specific roles available please check our website www.crawshawbutchers For the record there have been eight new stores opened in the year to June and all were opened in the first five months of the company financial year to 31 January 2017 so 20 is certainly possible but I would expect about 16 most likely as they will not want to be opening new stores in the busy Christmas weeks or in January. That was the pattern last year. | davidosh
10/7/2016 12:17 | Thanks for that. | tadders2
10/7/2016 11:40 | Tadders Nobody "knows" the answer until HMRC confirm in an individual case. But I (and others) believe it does - can't see any reason why it shouldn't. | garbetklb
10/7/2016 08:52 | Does anyone know if shares in Crawshaws qualify for Inheritance Tax relief ? | tadders2
08/7/2016 18:26 | Busy fitting out in Burnley for August.... | davidosh
07/7/2016 11:29 | We have some news | playful
07/7/2016 09:26 | Lol mcmather!.. Quite so :-) | shrout
07/7/2016 00:05 | Aye, if only the crashaw's lad could have been a bit more like the old couple in the tea room in Withnail & I.....(some strong language). | mcmather
06/7/2016 13:52 | playful 5 Jul'16 - 23:24 - 3919 of 3921 0 0 Watch from 3.19: Not very edifying to watch a Crawshaws employee using foul language to a 'customer', even in this light-hearted way. It doesn't fill me with confidence as a shareholder, or say much for Crawshaw's customer relations training, if such a thing is provided. | shrout
06/7/2016 13:10 | There was talk at the AGM of customers buying sausages rather than steak. Mr Rose did think that prices would rise. He asked the assembled shareholders if they were of the view that voters were now regretting voting for Brexit. The response seemed to be that the people there had no regrets. Anyway the roll out remains unaffected and it was encouraging to witness the raw enthusiasm of the team. | tadders2
05/7/2016 11:53 | One would imagine he would like to Come! Come! Come—nuclear bomb! this thread | mr hangman
05/7/2016 11:12 | Mr H, The funniest opening lines in a song ever IMO though I'm pretty sure Morrissey wouldn't relish being mentioned on a butchers thread! | cockerhoop
05/7/2016 09:33 | Not a holder here but very surprised by this comment. I asked about the impact of the out vote on our business and the general view was let’s wait and see, but they did confirm at least 50% is directly imported from within the EU at the moment. Not sourced locally, freshness, supporting local farmer, stricter food hygiene controls? Also how will pound fall impact margins? | tiswas |
