Well soft pound can only be helpful here from Uk perspective gold priced in dollars of course. She has pulled that trigger.

This 180p area proving a tough nut to crack . failure to do so would set up a double top with potential for a big retrace. Sitting in overbought territory which makes me nervous

I'm wondering if gold will soften slightly over the next 2 days (as it is the end of the month) meaning CEY will also soften.

Then will it firm up as people receive dividends & re-invest, followed by further firming on the 6th as people put the 2017 allowance into their ISA & invest it?

I'm just speculating, interested to hear what people think for/against or perhaps there won't be any difference?!

Thing is why are miners not reflecting the gain in the metals. Is it because the miners being in the commercials group know the crooks will hammer the metal prices to suit the corruption of options expiry ?

Juju - it's only two weeks until the next quarterly production figures. If CEY produce anywhere around 150,000oz, I think they will smash through 180p. Assuming gold holds up, of course.

He was voted against as shareholders were concerned that, as a member of the board, he might not be impartial in his role as a member of the remuneration committee.

The board has not elected him back to the remuneration committee.

So it seems that the board has acted directly in accordance with the majority of shareholders wishes.

I fail to see how that is arrogant, they've done exactly what they should do - listened & acted on the concerns of the owners of the company (I.e. the shareholders).

the Board is free to appoint anyone to the Board at any time
However when shareholders vote against someone - for whatever reason - then it is most unusual to immediately disregard that

He does not need to be a Board member if he is retained as a most valuable employee

Arrogance indeed

Why do you say that Phillis?

A majority of shareholders felt a non-exec should have been appointed to the remuneration committee and not Trevor Schulz. Also, although the remuneration policy did not have significant votes against, the remuneration report itself did.

Seems to me that Trevor Schulz was not considered to be impartial as an exec despite the boards belief that he was. It appears major shareholders wanted a non-exec on the remuneration committee. Also seems there was not an issue with the remuneration policy itself, so no wrongdoing just a concern there could be in the future?

As such Trevor Schulz has been removed from the board (voted out so no choice in the matter) & brought back as a non-exec, covering all his previous roles except being a member of the remuneration committee. Bear in mind that being voted out does not mean "fired" it means voted out of the board position - any person in such a position would still be an employee.

As such it seems the board listened & responded appropriately & correctly. Do you think otherwise?

Gold price moving up will help (through $1250 would be nice). I think once CEY moves above 185p, there will be no looking back. quarterly production figures in a few weeks are another catalyst....

Technically critical area chart wise now.We need a charge through 185 and stay there to look very bullish. The indicators have plenty of room for more gains ; I stick with my £2 next target with potentially lots more beyond that .
