Beautiful timing for divi just in time for new ISA year. Gold could be just anywhere, but Koreans may have another stab or chinese in China sea.

He reckons CEY is a buy. He also failed to note that part of the 12% fall was due to it going ex div.

I think the company should clear up the issue of the resource in an RNS - news shouldn't be allowed to leak out like this, even if it is possibly very good news.

I haven't been able to check but didn't CEY start reported only the "measured" resource (which would be around 8m oz) whereas measured, indicated & inferred comes to around 15m oz?

Thanks Jim
Seems like Centamin are keeping quiet about the latest 14.5m reserve and instead just leave the old 2015 estimate

centamin website:
"Total combined open pit and underground reserve estimate, at 30 June 2015, was 8.8Moz."

From LSE. 14.5m oz reserve:

“For a long time they were realistically one of the only invest-able gold names listed in London if you were a large-scale investor,” said Baring’s Burstow. That’s a title slowly coming under pressure from miners such as Acacia Mining Plc and Centamin Plc, Burstow says. “People have confidence that they can deliver. We just have to watch them carefully.”

Yup and then one from yesterday says 15.7m

hxxp://www.elwatannews.com/news/details/1922755

But the last official numbers published by the company are 8.8m in the 2017 results presentation from feb 6th.

Sorry yes I meant reserve not resource....15m is a massive increase on 8.8m Oz. Isn't CEY due to update the market soon with an updated reserve figure? As much as I'm very bullish on CEY and I'd love the reserve to be c15m Oz, I'm not sure how it can be?

It's the reserves rather than the resource (the resource is already publicly 14m). It's fairly intriguing, there are 3 different figures quoted, 14.5m, 15m and 15.7m. So say it's 15m. That is significantly different than the 8.8m stated in the latest presentation - which oddly states the figures as correct up to 30th june 2015.

Why would they be trying to hide the size of the resource any why would josef be selling ahead of that? Something is going on; i'm just not sure what!

If the total resource at Sukari is now c15m Oz then this is game changing. I have no doubt in time that CEY will mine more than this but a resource of this size is huge and would provide a further upside to the share price.

Indicators now well into oversold territory and we left a gap 166 - 173 which will have to be filled . Still a little off the 200dma so who know but buyinghere should prove profitable before long - unless the mafia decide to smash gold

Once again, I'd recommend reading the excellent Siko's posts about Centamin on the LSE board. It appears that news has slipped out that the total resource of El-Sukhary is now 15 million ounces of gold. The court case also looks like it is headed towards a favourable resolution. This all looks good from here.

Need to know how much the family still holds. Sami, nor any suitable sized investment vehicle that could represent his holding shows up on holdings page on Bloomberg. Last announcement related to him was 10m disposal taking him down to 68m. But that was before he stepped down. Subsequent to that he doesn't/didn't have to notify sales and as his holdings were held in different trusts he wouldn't have a notifiable interest breach if he sold down. He could have sold out completely. I have no idea, looks like he might have from holdings lists. It would give me a great deal of comfort if he still held, given josef's sells.

Until we get clarity on that (or obviously if court case gets cleared) i find it uncomfortable to get back in here. Still sitting on the sidelines other than glr and jlp which both have enormous potetential..

He could maybe be selling up to buy some more mining rights, once he's talked the mining authority out of their onerous conditions on production share. Its the only thing that could justify it and makes sense given the interaction they've been having recently. I would definitely invest in a new entity of his. He is only 43 so has plenty time to create a centamin of his own fromscratch. Just a thought...

The indiana resources thing is too small to warrant selling ~£40m of shares. Mkt cap is only £5m

Josef's selling seems even more odd given the 30m resource re-estimate for sukhari in the egyptian press - which is probably the reason for the bounce yesterday?

Any thoughts?
