21/6/2024 14:57 | Today's Tempus in Times has a positive write up (second item): Its principal conclusions are: In a business with such expensive assets, accurate financing is crucial. The company is simplifying its capital structure, refinancing where possible, prioritising unsecured debt, turning debt into equity and prepaying debt to cut interest. It has prepaid $2.6 billion of debt this year, out of an expected $29 billion when the half-year numbers are totalled for the end of May. In the first three months of the year, revenue rose from $4.4 billion a year previously to $5.4 billion, helped by this year’s extra day in February. It was notable that while passenger ticket sales rose by 28 per cent in cash terms, onboard and other turnover added only 12.8 per cent. That suggests more customers are whiling away the cruises in poolside loungers and fewer are propping up the bars. | ![]() grahamburn

17/6/2024 11:40 | Data from Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) shows a rebound that has seen volumes eclipse 2019, with 31.7mn passengers in 2023. This was driven by a 17.5 per cent surge in the North America market, while Europe volumes ticked up 6.5 per cent. CLIA forecasts that global volumes will rise to 34.7mn this year and reach 39.7mn in 2027. | smurfy2001

17/6/2024 09:23 | It's lovely in the beautiful fjords ATM. Sailing full. 3 times as many Americans than Brits on board, and the same number of Canadians as Brits. That surprised me, must be marketing over there and explains why it cost me much more this year. Fortunately got on the Chef's table meal last night, many on list didn't get on, so they're running at least 2 more at 116 dollars. Worth it though. Casino full of course with the new demographic, previous years it's been mainly empty when mainly Brits on board. | pierre oreilly

14/6/2024 21:17 | This is all normal behaviour when a company is on the path to recovery. Scare investors out of their shares, whilst the big boys accumulate. Shorters also want the share price down to cover at a cheaper price. As for a capital raise l smell bullcarp. | ![]() tradejunkie2
