Some short ii clearly don`t want to fork out the divi...so are closing...they have another 24 hours to do so...With c20% short, could be quite a bounce?

Edit its actually 21.1% short.....with 12.65p to pay as Divi

91.2m shares out short. That`s quite hefty.

m4rtinu: I guess what I am really saying is that sometimes in these scenarios it is a "value trap", they pay a huge divi but share price keeps dropping (usually some time further down the track more bad news arrives).

Sometimes the share price bounces back up and profits etc get better. This is a major support level here. One to watch carefully over the next few weeks IMO.

W'woo - the rise today obviously helping.

Not sure how traders/ big investors play it. Clearly they can't have their dividend and avoid some drop, when it goes ex div. They just take a view I suppose, which if known, would be the answer to your question!

So that looks like an "I don't have a clue" from me :)

In the absence of any company news, probably makes sense for share price to carry on in recent range. Shorts, having fallen a bit (from 24%), are now hovering around 21%. The reporting of any new positions will not be timely enough for us to benefit from.

With my current investment in CLLN I have to be a hold and hope!

The question here, has to be:

1) Will CLLN resume the down trend after it goes xd, or stay in this consolidating phase.

I think it will eventually bounce from here, but hard one to call

I now work on the basis if you can see the volume logged on the chart, and it stands out, it's relevant.

OK, over the weekend the UT was c. 1 million, now it is back to 2.75 million shares at 215.3p. Carillion opening trades today at around 217p.

Maybe I do understand it. Apart from the disappearing numbers. Sort of. :-)

Thanks KCSham. I thought I had a reasonable idea of what a UT is, and one seems to be still there, but there was also another trade sitting there which vanished. Maybe it was part of the process, or a mistake? Anyway, as I understand it, if the UT is noticeably higher than the prices going through before 4.30, that means some order(s) in the auction that were at those outlying prices that were fulfilled. Why would that not indicate someone content to buy at a higher price? If I am wrong about that, happy to be informed.

Whatever, I don't understand the disappearing number; but will be interested to see how this opens. As you say, it doesnt really affect buy-and-hold investors...

I am not talking about the closing auction at 211p. Actually there was another trade shown for around two and a half million shares (I think) at abound 215p which has now disappeared. If this is due to some market process I do not understand and not a mistake, I would be pleased to understand it from you gurus... it does seem to match the closing price, which in itself is on the high side.

Amazing how many people don't know what uncrossing trades are.

It's the UT trade not a buy. Uncrossing trade.

Huge trade after the close. Someone thinks this is too cheap - or at least some shorter who thinks this is not getting any cheaper (=> potential short squeeze).

Well a decent %divi is coming next week, hold for 12 months & receive another interim and another final, almost 15% reinvest the dividend and get a yield on that..

Down again and each day many more buys than sells until the end. Then large deals at low prices. I am sure that more short selling is afoot even if the figures say otherwise.Perhaps there is a lag .

Bought another 3000 shares just under 210.2.Attracted by soon coming dividend and likely shorters' closing.Shorting reduced from 21.3 to 20.7% to date.K C

Which parts?
I always vote against the remuneration report, pre-emption rights, share buybacks and meetings called in less than 14 days.
The institutions are now getting the vibe about remuneration.

Somerset County Council's case causes my concerns more than any thing else. However, there is not enough information for me to make a judgement. I decided to bought some to easy my itches anyway. It could be a mistake.K C
