27/8/2019 07:19 | Wakey wakey, campers! Burford: Was MW Wrong About Napo? No. Don’t be silly. We stated that beginning with BUR’s 2013 Annual Report, BUR egregiously manipulated its ROIC and IRR on a $7.4 million investment by categorizing Napo as a win with a significant return when it should have been a loss. BUR responded “The claim is simply false”.1 BUR then elaborated “As it transpired, a litigation matter other than the Salix matter resolved first, and resulted in an entitlement for Burford. That is the figure shown in Burford’s 2013 reporting.”2,3 Well that certainly sounds ominous for MW. But in reality it shows just how depraved are BUR’s efforts to conceal adverse results. | ![]() edmondj
27/8/2019 07:14 | Spot on Winsome. Drinks companies too leading to alcoholism and huge A&E costs. And chemical companies polluting the waterways. | ![]() gettingrichslow
27/8/2019 06:30 | Interesting that the average investor doesn't care half as much about scandals than about making money. Tesco, Ryanair, Dart Group, Persimmon (and other housebuilders), all utility companies, murdering tobacco companies, drug pushing pharma, polluting oil and mining companies. Fast fashion polluting the world. You could go on and on. Whether treating customers with contempt, ripping them off, fraudulent accounts, big bonuses, etc, investors still pile their money in. Stock markets containing only angelic companies would be very small indeed. | ![]() winsome
26/8/2019 23:03 | You can almost guarantee Muddy Waters, or whatever their name is , are behind this. Its like a public slanging match. Burford need to call theur bluff abd swat away this irrutating fly. Tben we can get back to a proper share price fir Burford. | mr bennn

26/8/2019 16:11 | The gravy theme appears to be now firmly established on this board. Time for me to leave and take the message elsewhere. | meanwhile
26/8/2019 15:15 | I sold Burford at a large profit well over a year ago (on the basis of a massive premium to book value for what is predominantly an investment company) and warned of Woodford well over 2 years ago. If I've touched a raw nerve, then pretend not to hear me. I have no position. In my view, the winners on Burford have long since left. | ![]() topvest
26/8/2019 15:06 | I am aware of an avatar on another thread - a Northern cave dweller - who puts gravy on his fish and chips. What do avatars make of that sick revelation? | ![]() monte1
26/8/2019 15:05 | Surely you mean a deeper cesspit? Oh, a cesspit of shorters. Just like this topic has become? I suppose cesspits are another of those places where scum rises to the surface once in a while. | ![]() epo001
26/8/2019 14:57 | It is not just directors on that train, all the advisers and flunkies who produce buy notes with £24 price targets regularly pack out all the carriages. | ![]() sweet karolina2

26/8/2019 14:54 | I believe that there is a train that regularly runs full of gravy. In fact many Directors of AIM companies often use it as their transport of choice. | ![]() monte1

26/8/2019 14:37 | Marinade, a French invention, is not needed if a good gravy is available. | meanwhile
26/8/2019 14:15 | Indeed, just had a lovely BBQ with lots of delicious meats in a variety of marinades but no need for any gravy. | ![]() sweet karolina2
26/8/2019 09:58 | Fine for those W investors genuinely venting their steam, otherwise a shorter cesspit.... | ![]() lomax99
26/8/2019 09:50 | Dont slag the wpct thread its great, somewhere people can go to vent their steam at their losses on Woodford’ dross!!!! His back brexit britain investments a total fiasco. Burford’ previous valuation was way too high, another Guernsey registered slightly opaque company with the chief financial officer related to the CEO and so on, it ticks all the boxes for a Woody/Invesco holding and I cant see how the price can recover whilst those idiots own so much of it. | ![]() porsche1945
26/8/2019 09:34 | Yes, another reprobate on a day visit from the cesspit which is the WPCT thread. Worth a look, particularly to highlight those who have/had ulterior motives! | ![]() lomax99 |
