27/4/2017 10:23 | These unnalocated trades at 43.5 are certainly buys and it is very likely we still have a seller of note offloading. However, it feels as if the share price has plateaued while it decides which way to go from here. | marvelman
27/4/2017 09:22 | I agree with Robert that these are now oversold even given the unresolved issues that surround the project. I have therefore taken a small position here at 43.5 knowing there are risks attached but also knowing that the medium term upside is at least double the current share price while the downside, even on negative news, must surely be limited.I have no illusions as to the risks still in this project but on balance from here it is worth the punt. | marvelman
27/4/2017 08:31 | Cheers Guys. Drinks are on me ! I am slightly disappointed that the proposed visit to see the Mine, as yet, does not seem to have gotten off the ground. I shall give it some more time before chasing (again) | pj 1
27/4/2017 08:07 | PJ - please accept my uptick. Also, to all, it's worth having a look at the LSE board this morning; there are posts there about the tree-felling. All in a storm in teacup, really, IMO. I know a lot of people will be waiting for financing news, but this share seems to me to be seriously oversold now. | bookwormrobert
27/4/2017 07:57 | PJ Your reputation as a genuine poster with no axe to grind goes before you. Any seasoned poster will know your record which is one many find hard to match. Keep up the good work on this and other threads. It is unfortunate that the nature of the world we live in allows anonymity to be so easily achieved by the morons within our society. Regards. | marvelman
27/4/2017 07:44 | I have A Troll, no matter what time of day or night he ticks every post down. Pretty sad really? | pj 1
27/4/2017 07:41 | Thanks, PJ. Appreciated. He says something similar on the UK Investor video. Don't know who thought your post is worthy of a red tick but it was just the same on the old EMED board. Thanks again for your trouble. | herbert howells
26/4/2017 22:20 | Its a new mine. It will require lots of funding. Key question is how? The MD hinted at partnerships or a strategic investor rather than dilutive measures at Mello a few months ago. | pj 1
26/4/2017 19:07 | Hello all. I am looking for a home for some MARL cash and have been researching BKY. Almost everything I have read and watched comes across as positive. I am an old long-time EMED investor so this bulletin board with it's bickering is a bit like coming home. But I am a bit put off by an article John Cornford on Master Investor last month. I won't link it because I am sure regular posters will be aware of it already. The article emphasises funding uncertainty but the recent presentation at the UK investor show suggests financing is not a problem. I have looked hard but I can't find information on the website or in RNSs to decide the question either way. I would be very grateful if holders with a better knowledge of the situation could comment especially to counter the argument put by Mr Cornford. Thanks for your trouble. | herbert howells

26/4/2017 10:02 | La Gaceta: Berkeley starts the process of selection of 25 workers for the mineBerkeley Minera of Spain has begun the selection process to incorporate 25 new workers and employment created by the Retortillo mining project will now surpass 70. The company is working Together with Adecco for select the candidates among the more than 21,000 applications received. The Company highlights its commitment "to the hiring and training of local residents, giving them preference when filling employment positions." In this sense, the mining company has to date trained more than 120 inhabitants of the towns in the area around the Retortillo mine. The new workers will carry out jobs such as the fencing of the area of project, the launching of the next exploration campaign, the preparation of a plot of 50 hectares in Vitigudino for reforestation and the general preparation of other areas so as to start construction imminently. | herlat1

25/4/2017 10:52 | PA can not be faulted for his tireless promotion the company. I have just rung the company to discover he is currently in Toronto for the World Nuclear Fuel Conference at which Berkeley is presenting. I gather they will publish it along with Q & As. The company will also publish a link for all shareholders to submit any questions they may have. Those who have doubts should express them directly to the company. I have to admit I am fully committed. It seems a no brainer to me but I believe the recent share price fall can be attributed to tracking the uranium price which has fallen back over the past couple of months and Berkeley's share price has nothing to do with environmental neurosis. | wiseacre
25/4/2017 10:47 | Thanks for the link Robert. Finally we are now down below the November 45p placing price, sometimes it's an interesting investing world we live in - Mr Market at work! | tightfist

24/4/2017 12:14 | I just don't get it. Why is there are a raft of small sales after another positive announcement? | wiseacre
24/4/2017 10:37 | The Company holds itself to the highest standards and its commitment to environmental excellence is evidence of this. The Environmental License and the Environmental Measures Plan detail that the Company will plant 30,000 young oak trees, a six-fold increase on the number of older trees being cleared, greatly improving the ecological and agricultural value of the area. This reforestation has now commenced following an agreement with the highly supportive local municipality of Vitigudino which details the arrangements for planting 20,000 young oak trees over a 50 hectare plot. Does this not address those trying to put the willies up weak holders on environmental grounds? | wiseacre
24/4/2017 10:10 | It a good update. I think they are a bit behind on the crushing circuit, but no big deal. I saw for myself the tree work. Most of the existing trees are diseased & dying & the replanting will be in selected areas by the Environmental Agencies. Given the number they are replanting (30,000) it will add positively to the area, which is pretty well uninhabited apart from the small local village. There are some cattle & Kites in the sky & views across to snow capped mountains, when I was there in March. It is a solid hours drive from Salamanca on a very good highway. I have no problems with them not mentioning fundraising at this point, as they have so many options to consider. It will come when it is needed. | plasybryn

24/4/2017 09:27 | TODAY'S RNS FROM COMPANY: Pre-construction activities advancing at Berkeley Energia's Salamanca mine Berkeley Energia is pleased to announce that the pre-construction site based activities are advancing at its 100% owned Salamanca mine located in a historic mining region in western Spain. Work on the ground in preparation for the commencement of construction has progressed well with over 600 hectares acquired or leased to date under the land acquisition programme and with only a few hectares remaining to be acquired. The road deviation is advancing and the new road will be ready for use in the European summer. The equipment procurement for the electrical power line has been completed and the upgrade to the existing line will commence once the road construction is complete. The crushing circuit, screens, feeders and ancillary equipment are currently being fabricated by established equipment suppliers, Sandvik in Finland and Vibramech in South Africa. The Company has entered into a preliminary agreement with Asturiana de Zinc SAU, a Glencore company, to supply locally sourced reagent from 2018 to 2021 at a cost substantially below the one estimated in the Definitive Feasibility Study. These reagent costs represent approximately 30% of the overall process operating costs. In addition, the Company has now received final proposals from a number of experienced and reputable mining contractors and has been pleased with the highly competitive nature of the bids received. The Company is building a successful track record of cost optimisation, the order of the first major items for the crushing circuit, placed in December last year, was more than 20% below estimates from the Definitive Feasibility Study. The Company will continue to pursue cost optimisation opportunities as it proceeds towards production to ensure that the Salamanca mine establishes itself at the bottom of the cost curve in terms of capital and operating costs once in production. The Company holds itself to the highest standards and its commitment to environmental excellence is evidence of this. Commenting on the progress of the Salamanca mine, Managing Director Paul Atherley, stated: "Since our oversubscribed institutional fundraise late last year, we have been delivering on the site-based activities leading up to the main construction, which we expect will commence later in the year. We now have over 50 staff and contractors on site and are continuing to take on more staff from those local people who have attended our skills training courses as construction commences. Our continued operating and capital cost optimisation moves us closer to establishing Salamanca as a reliable low cost supplier to global utilities from the heart of the Europe Union. Euratom has welcomed the security of supply Salamanca brings to the European Community which generates over 25% of its electricity from nuclear power. The European nuclear trade body Foratom has described nuclear power as indispensable to the EU's aim to decarbonise the economy by more than 80% by 2050." | bookwormrobert
24/4/2017 09:18 | Lango...you still seem to confuse facts with opinions...have you watched Paul Atherleys presentation to UKIshow? In which case are you saying he's lying abiut the job applications in an area of high unemployment...? Confused as to your real motives.... | rougepierre |
