danmart2: One last question regarding BKY, why is the market cap so high at £84 million? On my calculations it’s higher than the current reality which is real estate with potential
rotors: wiseacre18 Feb '21 - 18:34 - 2544 of 2545 "Old report A threat such as that will cut no mustard, Close to crunch time indeed. Wouldn't be long of this one" Hello ernie, every time you comment on here the share price goes up! +3.1% today Friday UK market. Please write again soon.
rotors: Up 20% in Madrid Nov 3rd. on good volume of 17.4 million shares. No news. All 7 trades in London logged as 'buys'. NSCII approval still awaited. A random thought (not a prediction): Non-Executive Director Nigel Jones is not standing for re-election at the November 25 AGM, due to "corporate governance requirements at Rio Tinto PLC", Berkeley says. Rio Tinto started in Spain (the name reflects their first site in Huelva) and they are uranium producers. Does this leave BKY open to a bid from Rio?
broken_arrow1: Should be good for the share price, tracker funds buying etc. Berkeley included in IBEX Small Cap Index hTtps://
ascov: Fortunately i was already out. However i think this space may still be worth watching. As i understand it this is a rocky left wing coalition and Covid effects are not likely to bode well for parties in power (watch out Boris )as electorates like to blame them even if it's not their fault. A pandemic is a long time in politics. They haven't got the bill through yet and in the long term, money talks. So there is potential mileage here over time. The price will surely plummet back to previous levels (sub 10) but BKY may not be dead yet
wiseacre: Well don't say I didn't warn you. The Government has put the kibosh on any uranium mining. Can't see any good reason why the share price shouldn't fall a further 50%.
wiseacre: The share price has a lot further to fall as the Government sits on its hands.
rotors: Why is it so quiet here after the major price surges in BKY? Tuesday 67 million shares traded on the Bolsa; today 19th 40 million shares traded. London pathetic - price down 3% with most trade bargains a sell. Spain up 9%. Is it not clear that the Spanish markets are pointing the way? EDIT. Stock common to all three markets, London, Bolsa, ASX
quepassa: Clearly the move to the Main Board and the new Madrid quotation have done nothing so far to support/stimulate the share price which unfortunately now looks to me like a falling knife. The question is just what has spooked the market so much to cause this massive sell-off at a time when other uranium stocks have been doing well? Berkeley has lost significantly more than 30% since December when by comparison sector bellwether Cameco has GAINED 30% over same time frame. Perhaps other posters, including especially herlat1, would care to share their views and opinions on why the BKY share price has fallen so very much recently at a time when other uranium companies have shown robust positive gains. ALL IMO.DYOR. QP
quepassa: do you have a persecution complex? nothing accusatory whatsoever. if you want accusatory, look no further than herlat1 who accuses anyone of being a green who asks probing questions. a straight question - which deserves a straight answer. To repeat, I am asking for comments on the evolution on the major retracement of the share price over the last twelve months which has proved to be very much at odds with the sky-rocket forecasts of the brokers and others. If you hadn't noticed the share price has fallen from 70p to 45p. I am heavily invested in uranium and if we take a share like Cameco, where I have significant holdings, it is effectively flat over twelve months compared to BKY. It is therefore of interest to me and others perhaps to hear views why the BKY share price has performed the way it has over the same time frame, especially from those who have been most vociferous. If no-one else will respond, prey what are your views please, bookworm, on why the share price has retrenched so very much? ALL IMO. DYOR. QP
