Masters at it.

Fundamentals mean nothing in this market. Every stock on the FTSE100 is down today.

Unbeleivable really, with oil on the floor and the world gushing the stuff and demand can't keep up with supply, oil stocks although down are now on the way back up but things like AV. and LGEN are still going down, especially as both have just had cracking results and profits, oilers profits will be hit hard with oil at this level.

Isn't the oil price drop because of COVID 19 and demand slumping as a consequence of it?

yes but the drop this morning is nothing to do with COVID 19

in case you hadn`t noticed WTI hit $28 per barrel this morning....

what makes you believe that china has a grip? this is the nation that has lied on the past. china has no credibility and sadly their figures are probably manipulated.

I’m about 35% cash now, fingers are itchy...but there’s also no hurry. Bit of logic - covid has been a major issue in China for 8 weeks+. It looks like the draconian measures are starting to get a grip. We are only just beginning and places like Iran will be affected for months, either until there is a vaccine or until enough have it to develop herd immunity. If I don’t catch the very bottom it’s not an issue, wait until there are at least two days of the price not falling..

I just shifted some cash to drip feed over the next couple of weeks into my Sipp, though I'm 57 so looking for good yielders just now so capital growth not such a driver in the short term.

Are we at capitulation stage yet?
My guess is the ftse could fall another 1000 points in March/April before the virus wanes.

div pay in June 21.4p at current price of 317 yield of 6.75% will go up by 5.8% if price get to 300 as yield then 7.13%. will buy again as sold just before results but may waite and see how US opens.

The above yield is based on the final div so does not include half year so could be near 10% and as some one else said on the board were you going to get that yield.

Ok could cut but will still get 5/7% and at good share price ok could get lower by 10% in next 6 mths but upside

Doubt very much that this is the bottom.

As terrible as it seems today, the virus is yet to do any real damage in the UK.
