Rental revenue for the quarter was $2.175 billion, reflecting an increase of 30.5% year-over-year, and establishing a first quarter record.

So both H&E and URI with +30% for the first qtr

The momentum we carried into the year accelerated quickly, and our markets are continuing to trend up. The most significant tailwind is the broad-based rental demand we’re seeing in our construction and industrial verticals as we approach our busy season.

Matthew Flannery, chief executive officer of United Rentals, said, “We're very pleased with our strong start to 2022, which delivered a number of first quarter records, including total revenue, rental revenue, adjusted EBITDA and EPS.

2021 was made on the first trading day of the year at 3468. this years high was almost the same on the second day of trade at 6210. as long as last years low isnt broken then shares can stage a rebound back abv 50. if the lows are taken out, then the gap at 29 could be filled. but right now at just under 19 times 22, its not hugely expensive. 29-35 would be a steal if seen esp if the us is to avoid a recession.

Despite sparkling results in March the shares are down 30% ytd.
It's mainly about the American interest rates. I can't see the price rising any time soon.

Read over to Sunbelt should help ensure pretty good figures for the final quarter and the year.

Refer to post 60760. The share price is nearly at the blue line.

Possibly support at 4250 after that 4100 zone.

Good day disc0

"raised guidance" best draw a veil over that for the time being.

Todays low so far is 4399 which is near enough the Feb and March low.

The performance of the S&P 500 will likely determine if AHT is to drop below the 4391 support zone.

Probability is a retest of the dashed purple line at 4488. If the US markets continue the sell off in the coming week the low at 4391 is second in line for a retest.

Much as one might expect, AHT has taken a lead from yesterdays US fall and has surrendered some of the gains earlier in the week.

Nevertheless, we are showing a small net increase over the week from close 13/4 4578p to todays close 4639p, a modest rise of +61p.

On the downaide URI has continued to fall today -20.09, (-6%) at the time of writing, DOW -833 (-2.4%), so should we brace ourselves for possible further falls next week?

Encouraging start and high volume of £1.6 mill, but tailed off once US markets opened, and gains reduced to +41p @ 4817 at the close.

URI closed -17.9 (-4.8%) @ 336 and does not augur well for tomorrows action IMHO...

Can we finish the week with a net gain?

Edit 22/04/22
: US stocks fell following the possibility of more aggressive policy tightening by the Federal Reserve.

Good day disc0

I do find it 'odd' that inflation, higher interest rates, and a reduction in FED assets will not slow demand. Perhaps there is a hidden agenda I am missing.

Thanks Mr bExtract from CRH outlook statement:'We expect the positive demand environment in North America to continue, which, in addition to the continued delivery of our integrated solutions strategy and good commercial management, should positively impact both our Americas Materials and Building Products businesses.'

Today's sustained rise to close at 4776p (+184.00 +4.01%) on volume of around 1.5 mil is encouraging, and my earlier small purchases at 4699p (8/3/22) and 4674.89p (8/4/22) are now in the money, and looking more promising.

However one swallow does not make a summer, and I anticipate more volatility (opportunities?) going forward? …
