Another stonking good performance by AHT today, closed +194p +4.4% @ 4591p

By my estimation AHT has risen from around 3521 20th June to close today plus 1070p, an increase of 30.39% in a little over a month.... but you had to be in it to win it, right?

Equally pleasing is that my modest (PCA) buyback programme to replace shares sold 12th Nov 2021 at 6484 (25% of holding) is now in profit, although I am now inclinded to pause this programme until the direction of the market is confirmed..

It looks like the tide is still with us at present, I imagine any temporary blips to cover gaps etc will merely be ripples or waves in the grand scheme of things.

But to quote our friend Disc0 WTFDIK?

Have a great weekend folks and remember NAI

disc0

I wish you good fortune with your toe dipping but beware the sticklebacks.

I was reading earlier today that there is a fair amount of share buybacks taking place in the US which is assisting the 'cause'. I say no more either way.

Good day disc0

You were guaranteed a bite. No offence taken.....but beware Kalashnikov bearing squirrels.

I thought the part about the NBER declaring a recession after it was over was a classic.

I know you will thing me a pessimist and maybe I am but looking at the global situation I can't help but think it will end in tears. As ever I trade what I see not what I think.

Good day Mr bThanks for your TA.....no offence intended yesterday (thought you'd bite but it was mainly aimed at the technical criteria for "recession" which ignores job creation!).

Good day Laird

I trust you are well.

Not short AHT. The risk/reward ratio is not worth tying up £9000 in margin for a £10/point stake.

Plus the share price is at a cusp. Attempt to breakthrough the resistance zone at 4456 and fill the gap at 4640 from 22nd April or drop back to fill the gaps at 4397 and 4145.

Given the manner in which the US market is shrugging off any 'bad' news a short does not offer much attraction. I do accept that the AHT Daily RSI does appear 'toppy'.

Most people think that back-to-back negative GDP quarters constitute a recession, but that’s not the case.
The National Bureau of Economic Research is the official arbiter of recessions, and uses multiple other factors in making its determination.
“The NBER would be laughingstocks if they said we had a recession when we were creating 400,000 jobs a month,” said Dean Baker, co-founder of the Center for Economic and Policy Research.

It's not unknown for the NBER to declare a recession after the recession is over.

Good day MrbJobless claims have fallen by 5k, so whilst technically two consecutive quarters of negative GDP is a "recession" the increase in the jobs market counters this.....besides which technicals don't always provide a realistic picture, cough cough :)

The US Market doesn't appear to be concerned about the GDP......but it will when it suits.

Following yesterdays results URI share price has moved up to s/r at 287. If it is able to overcome resistance the next s/r zone is 300.

URI DAILY

AHT has today gapped over the primary trend line. S/R zone is at 4456. When there is sufficient buying pressure the share price tends to gap or 'zoom' through s/r zones.
