13/11/2023 07:31 | Just have to hope that they are better at choosing mining operations to invest in than I am ;-) | dixi

12/11/2023 15:59 | KONIL - I hope the AAU management reads and takes on board your comments. We desperately need a return to the practices of the past whereby shareholders were MORE REGULARLY updated in terms of mine performance. | charles clore

12/11/2023 10:09 | jaynesdad, quite agree. tavsan is the only excitement for now. nothing else excites in this down cycle. on the positive side it seems that many, having been beaten down by the depressing share price performance, are underestimating the impact that tavsan will have on the aau share price it may however take until after publication of the first tavsan production results for the market to start believing in aau again. management could help by providing monthly / regular updates on the tavsan project during this phase in the run up to production. starting now would seem appropriate, there must be much that can be said if only they had the will to do so. | konil
10/11/2023 17:09 | What I want to see is a focus on what they already have in the portfolio. I know others will strongly disagree with me on this but I see no point in adding project after project after project with no discernible progress. How long has AAU had Salinbas/ Ardala, when will we reach production there after giving up 76.5%? When will Venus bear fruit yet, other than Tavsan (which itself took a decade) these are supposed to be the furthest up the development curve but seemingly nowhere near producing anything. I can see why the Board stand accused of running this as a lifestyle company, that £500 million doesn't seem remotely feasible to me anymore. id be happy with £50m and that doesn't look on the cards just now. Nice weekend all | jaynesdad
10/11/2023 16:41 | It's hard to understand the dearth of news, as Shortarm has rightly pointed out there has been a lot going on with the drill bit for sometime and Tavsan is surely now getting towards the finishing line. I am not expecting much from the Venus quarter as markets are still difficult. I don't know how many of you saw the Neo debut yesterday but it fell 39%, although it has made quite a bit back today. Hopefully something next week for us to chew on and add the cardio paddles to the share price to spring it into a bit of life or for sellers to sell into 🙄. Good weekend all. | soulsauce
10/11/2023 16:27 | Indeed we do. | shortarm
10/11/2023 16:17 | I hope and pray there will be some long awaited exciring news appearing from the woodwork sometime before Christmas. Goodness knows we shareholders deserve it! | charles clore
10/11/2023 13:06 | Yes donald pond a point I have been trying to make recently. If you add into that what you would have returned just having your money in a bank, even in the lean interest years, then it looks a whole lot worse. I would like to hear more words promoting and showing shareholder value rather than words like some shareholders being out for a quick buck. It would also be nice to see a company happy with its shareholders rather than being a burden and approachable instead of being ever more aloof. | soulsauce
10/11/2023 12:38 | Charles, I call for more honesty, two examples: Successive presentations, including the latest still on the company website, showing a bar graph for production which includes Salinbas production of near 30k ounces in 2026. Does anyone, even the most avid supporters on this chat board, believe that? Secondly the same presentation, and on webchats, claiming that the company is dividend paying. It is not dividend paying, There were special dividends, long gone, paid to shareholders as a result of a one off even. Talk about gilding a lily. | jaynesdad
10/11/2023 12:07 | Charles, Spot on. | jaf1948
10/11/2023 12:06 | I think we can safely say that despite AAU's many notable achievements we as investors have not benefited in the same way as the directors of the company. Not a great story for the grandkids. But the potential is there if managed properly ... | charles clore
10/11/2023 11:30 | JD, It was shortarm's figure - not mine. I just quoted his own figure back. | jaf1948
10/11/2023 11:29 | Bad timing? Look at the share price graph for all time! You have to be lucky to be in profit here if you simply bought and held. Jaf can you break down your $38m? You may well be right, and I've forgotten something, but you cant include the $8 for the Salinbas drilling when AAU only benefits from 23.5%. If I can distance myself from the bromance I have with this share I have to say it has been a poor investment. I think my attitude is on a par with Soul, and like him I would at least trim at the 3p level. Now I doubt we are alone in this, the consequence will be a ball and chain on the share price if/when it does start progressing northwards rather than the incessant sideways/down. | jaynesdad
10/11/2023 11:25 | I say:Buy several million under a penny.Get a dividend that pays for a large portion of them.Sell lots over five pence..All good so far? It can and has been done!.But don't do what I did and buy millions more at 5p, 4p, 3p etc.... | shortarm
10/11/2023 11:09 | Yes, whatever else you can say about Ariana, you would have been much better over almost any timescale you name to have never known about it. With the presence of MdV far beyond the recommended guidelines, and the frequent large cheap options, this is clearly primarily a lifestyle company run for his benefit. That is not to say that crumbs aren't provided to others from time to time, just that the chairman has a "heads I win tails you lose" approach. | donald pond
10/11/2023 11:06 | Do not blame others for your bad timing investing in commodities.....Post office savings - that's more your bag..... | shortarm
10/11/2023 11:02 | If you regard the share price falling consistently for the past three years as some sort of achievement then clearly we have different success criteria. | jaf1948
10/11/2023 10:55 | Seriously how many junior explorers ever achieve a mine, never mind two! In fact never mind three or four!!!Maybe my age is making me not chase share price increases but that was just a stoopid thing to write down! | shortarm
10/11/2023 10:37 | I get that it is difficult to ignore the shareprice but the company itself has grown and is growing. 2nd mine opening soonMassive resource upgrade at SalinbasResource upgrade at Tavsan Resource upgrade at KiziltepeNew high grade deeper resource at KepezProject leopard initial exploration Silvova results Etc | shortarm |
