The end of year competition was launched while Tavsan was suspended so your thinking is flawed Shortarm.
Basically the company has done nothing to excite the market for most of the year.

Stick to your guns Shortarm. Was it 7p by year end? These things can change in a blink. Gold at $2100, tasty resource upgrade at Salinbas, gilding of the Hiz discovery, stellar Venus launch, early Tavsan production, eye-catching new project acquisition. All very possible in 2 months.

In light is the suspension of Tavsan for four months I think the EOY shareprice competition should conclude in April 2024?Anyone agree?

I doubt that they will want that level of administration!

I think its ok because they talk about specific distributions of 1.33 GGP and 0.199 AAU for every SVE share but this may need to be amended depending on professional fees and payments to creditors. As you say that seems an expensive way of doing it but I think better for us and GGP shareholders than forced sales.

JD I think you have something there. I should imagine it is much more onerous to split and spread shares than actual cash.
Does the company know bigglesbingham?

Wasn't expecting that this morning! Was confused as the SVE release talks of making a capital distribution, which initially seems at odds with transferring actual shareholdings in AAU and GGP as capital distribution sounds more like a sale followed by a cash distribution. But I think that may just imply its taxation treatment to establish the cost of the new shareholdings for CGT?

Hi all. I've just got off the phone with the company (board member) and they are fully aware of the situation and importance of highlighting to SVE holders the Ariana story. I sent an email confirming my thoughts which have incorporated several other ideas posted this morning. I think this should be seen as a potential opportunity because many SVE holders will now have a stock that they would research and once they look at the story then I believe many might add. As long as Ariana market their story correctly. In my career I've always seen opportunity out of potentially bad situations.

I've got 1.2m AAU and 485k SVE (mainly held as a cheap way into GGP) so I firmly believe in the potential of AAU.I'll just end up with a few more AAU that I certainly won't be selling.

Not in Kerim's nature to attempt to buyback those shares to appease the 'quick buck' merchants. If it is not evident to you by now that he has no care about the share price then nothing will.

dixi could be right though. I suspect many SVE shareholders will end up with less than 1000 shares, maybe even less than 500. At today's share price it is hardly worth selling.
I should imagine some shareholders may already hold AAU so they will just add to the rest.
We will have to see what comes out.

If Clip and Clop don't get some news flowing it's not going to move away from 2p anyway.

I do think it better that the AAU shares will be held by numerous investors now, rather then the spectre of SVE's full holding hitting the market. Time will tell. Onwards and upwards.

Totally agree BB, AAU should not bury their collective heads in the sand with this issue. I cannot help but think they would already be aware though.

It's not the way it's set up the shares are going to SVE holders however it may be worth an approach for a quasi buy back.

I would say SVE have been a seller. There may be some sold for prof fees but many investors in SVE would be quite savvy and potential understand the potential in both stocks AAU and Gretland gold. Some may have been in for Gretland rather than AAU but sure research will be done. It's up to AAU to go in the offensive regarding marketing to make sure the holders within SVE understand the potential of AAU so they don't decide to sell and indeed actually add.

Does AAU (for example) have the ability / scope to approach starvest to buy the 11m shares??

Based on the current holdings of Greatland Shares and Ariana Shares, the Company believes that Greatland Shares will be distributed in a ratio of approximately 1.33 Greatland Shares for every one share of the Company and approximately 0.199 Ariana Share for every one share of the Company. In the discretion of the Board and the Proposed Liquidators, some of the share portfolio will be retained as necessary to ensure that there is sufficient cash to pay creditors and meet professional fees. This may affect the number of Greatland Shares and Ariana Shares to be distributed.
