16/11/2023 17:22 | given the stated strategy "Investments are designed to be timed optimally for maximum value accretion over a near-term investment horizon." not sure what 'near-term' in this context means but first three investments were made 29 sep 2021, 29 nov 2021, 03 may 2022. anyone's guess but in a year or two there could be some serious wonga coming in? | konil
16/11/2023 17:11 | shortarm, yeah, thanks. i trawled the rns history since launch of asgard, below is what i found (e&oe). rns 13 jul 2021 launch of asgard metals fund " Investments are designed to be timed optimally for maximum value accretion over a near-term investment horizon." rns 29 sep 2021 panther metals (australia) aud 50,000 rns 29 nov 2021 pallas resources (kazakhstan) gbp 200,000 rns 03 may 2022 annamite resources (laos) usd 100,000 rns 21 dec 2022 update on asgard "2022 represents the first full year since our launch of the Asgard Metals investment strategy. To date we have made three significant investments at a total cost of A$637,000 in a variety of exploration projects in three different jurisdictions, Australia, Kazakhstan and Laos. Each of these investments were made into private companies holding quality discovery-stage exploration opportunities, one of which has since listed on a major stock-exchange; Panther Metals Limited (ASX: PNT)." rns 13 nov 2023 update on asgard rockover holdings (zimbabwe) usd 250,000 altai resources (kazakhstan) gbp 100,000 "During the year, we made certain additional investments in some of our investee companies and welcome adding two new companies to the portfolio, Rockover Holdings, operating in Zimbabwe through a wholly-owned subsidiary, and Altai Resources, operating in Kazakhstan. To date our total investments across the portfolio now amount to approximately A$1,600,00..." of the aud 3m, i guess remaining cash in asgard metals fund must be around aud 1.2m (having not checked the accounts, i've assumed an arbitary aud 200,000 for expenses). | konil
16/11/2023 14:12 | Asgard investments!? And there is some left! | shortarm
16/11/2023 14:07 | stayed in oz, maybe, and ok if so, but what was the $3m used for? | konil

16/11/2023 13:28 | My guess is, fwiw, is that the profits from the lithium deals stayed in Australia because to repatriate them to UK via dividends would be subject to a witholding tax I would think. | doinnuthing
16/11/2023 12:44 | We were all aware of the sale within Asgard bigglesbingham but maybe all thought that money had been snaffled up in the parent company to get Kiz up and running. It seems rather odd to have kept that amount of money aside for 3yrs deciding what to do with it. Another one of the Ariana mysteries 🤔🤪 | soulsauce
16/11/2023 12:38 | Specific question for a q and a. They said it was monies within Asgard which came as a surprise to me when announced. I knew nothing of the money in Asgard until they announced the first purchase. | bigglesbingham
16/11/2023 11:38 | Well it wasn't clear to me konil but maybe someone with a better handle on the accounts could clear this up. The timing all just seems odd to me. | soulsauce
16/11/2023 11:28 | Zangdook - that's hysterically funny :-) | dixi
16/11/2023 11:09 | If we were 5p when Asgard was launched they should have used all the cash to short Ariana. | zangdook
16/11/2023 11:02 | soul, good questions. i had assumed such a large amount was accounted for and historically clear / sorted, prior to my interest in aau. shocking if not. | konil
16/11/2023 09:41 | When we were still at 5p | xow98
16/11/2023 08:22 | Do not think so, I believe the profit from the original investment stayed within Asgard and there is still some left. | shortarm
16/11/2023 07:51 | So no cash held by AAU is fed into Asgard? | dixi
16/11/2023 07:23 | Asgard cash wasn't from income, the initial 30 grand was turned into 3 million by one of Kerim's investments. | shortarm
16/11/2023 07:21 | It's not good for sentiment overall unfortunately. So long as AAU are prudent and look after our cash, at least until payments recommence from Zenit and Tavsan is generating the expected income. I'm sure Asgard have enough to worry about for now without chucking more cash around! | dixi
16/11/2023 07:12 | Default notice issued to Goldstone, I am glad we have cash in these times! | shortarm

15/11/2023 10:29 | soulsaurce. I think the most I ever held when it was prospecting was 1/2 mill but sold out on the find, bought back sometime later when it was producing and sold them out at 5.9 on not been tempted since as you say management is lacking like some others I could mention. Hum being about the worst managed gold company have ever seen. Aaz has had a very bad run of late, but hopefully it has sorted it's problems but will need to increase production before it ever sees previous highs. Just now I don't think gold is very profitable, but might become so if gold price catches up with inflation at about £3,500 would be about right. | cinoib
15/11/2023 10:10 | The Starvest General Meeting is on 21st November Cancellation will be on 29th November. More than ever the Co., in my opinion, need to reintroduce a Gantt chart showing the spread of core and secondary projects. It needs to show clear significant milestones and estimated timescales. This should be supported by an update on all the core projects, in particular the "elephant in the room" -Salinbas and Hizarliyayla, the progress on the second mine at Tavsan, and the updated Resource & Reserve for Kiziltepe. How much of an overlap can we expect with Tavsan mine in production running concurrently with Kiziltepe? I would use it as an opportunity to say what progress is being made to "become one of the premier gold mining companies operating in Turkey" and confirm the target of a "further ten-fold multiplication in market capitalisation within the next decade" is still achievable. "Ariana with Attitude" to help the Starvest shareholders know that they should hold on tight to their AAU shares for an expected short term revaluation. | plasybryn
