09/10/2023 15:31 | As far as I'm concerned, it is clear that they need Tavsan online and earning asap. Cash will have continued to be utilised since the end of the latest reporting period. Maybe they may even feel compelled to tap the market as a buffer. Of course they can say the first time in a long time. I'm sure that would go down terribly, but what can you do about it?I really don't think there is anything in AAU for Apliki at this current time Venus is going to have to sort itself out I feel. | dixi
09/10/2023 14:55 | Question is how much is the asking price for Apliki and the associated plant? Will Venus have sufficient cash to purchase after the IPO without going to the market to fundraise immediately after floating? AAU is not Venus, Ariana is just a (major) shareholder. Also, at the risk of upsetting people, does Ariana have sufficient cash now to secure Apliki without concerns about working capital if there are further hiccups at Tavsan? Not trying to put a downer on things (the 75k was me too for gods sake) but would be interested on what you other fine chaps and chapesses think JD | jaynesdad
09/10/2023 14:51 | I predicted 2.75p for the end of year 2023 based mainly on my worries about KS's competence as a CEO (but not, of course, as a Geologist) - I believe it was the second lowest entry. I didn't for one moment think it would be over-optimistic ! Oh well, that's a few thousand pounds that will not be productive for some time. | jaf1948
09/10/2023 14:32 | soul, yup, venus without apliki is like any other 10 year mining project with all the associated risks. apliki brought with it the advantage of being fully permitted and a plant (needing transport and reconstruction) thus potential to be in production in 1 to 2 years. with added advantage that aau ore outside venus could also be processed here. so not overly excited by venus ipo unless it comes with apliki or apliki can be added later. (will permitting have lapsed?) i'm guessing market will not show much enthusiasm either. | konil
09/10/2023 12:05 | plas, its a period of very poor share price performance, as you point out. and external factors, in the main the pog has disappointed (despite hopes around basel3), so no help from that direction. the unnecessary cageyness around apliki has disappointed hugely and put a sour note against management, along with the point you make about lack of detail in reporting progress generally. on a personal note, i made the mistake of heavily buying into (literally) the hoopla around apliki and tavsan coming on stream in short order only to end up nursing massive losses. i'm really hoping the start of production at tavsan sees a significant reversal in the share price but it will probably not happen until the first report post-tavsan commencement is published and shows the production numbers and profits. at that stage imo 5p could be realistic especially if kizil run down is slower than expected. will pog run up? who knows but obvs that would add to the gains. unfortunately i cannot see anything else in the aau stable that will provide any share price support in the near / mid term, unless ks springs a surprise with a sale of some asset. as for holding management accountable, i think they have found a good way of avoiding that by the way they handle voting. | konil
09/10/2023 12:05 | That would be my 175k biggles! | jaynesdad
09/10/2023 11:50 | The sell was three mins after a 175k buy so definitely broker working the order. Is what it is but nice in the not related to an adverse status of company ie creative accounting a mine failure etc. I do think it's Rowan estate selling on behalf of beneficiaries who don't care what the get within reason they just want money. Can't be profit takers because not been this low for three years. | bigglesbingham
09/10/2023 11:48 | Does someone know something we don't? Even gold is up | jaynesdad
09/10/2023 11:47 | At least there is 175k buy on the other exchange! They have to run out eventually!! | shortarm
09/10/2023 11:45 | Just noticed. Its relentless | jaynesdad
09/10/2023 11:10 | Seller is relentless 500k. | bigglesbingham
09/10/2023 08:35 | But nothing will change. Kerim has made himself virtually untouchable so the company will continue to be run as he wants to run it. It may well be successful but then again who knows. We either go along for the ride or get out - there is little chance of being able to change anything. | jaf1948
09/10/2023 05:46 | It is a good post. It needs to go to the company though! | shortarm
08/10/2023 17:58 | Excellent post and great research for a Sunday afternoon Plasybryn. I think the most disappointing thing since the jv was completed has been the lacklustre and glacial progress at Salinbas. I really thought having Ozaltin on board would have put a fire under Ariana and opened lots of doors. We gave an awful lot away for not very much to date. | soulsauce
08/10/2023 14:29 | Absolutely but £6m in liquid assets is hardly cause for concern | bigglesbingham
07/10/2023 18:10 | Add back the gold bullion and then consider the prospect of accelerated dividends from Tavsan (as no loan to repay), the cash-burn situation has to be seen as temporary. | dixi
07/10/2023 16:35 | Ariana – Interims Promise Much Despite Cashburn: Still A Buy. AIM-listed Turkish Gold-producer Ariana Resources (AAU) released its interim results to June a few days ago. It had just £4.5 million in cash, down from £9.4 million at the previous full year and that long-awaited pesky IPO of Venus Minerals seems to have been pushed back again. So is there a problem? 07/10/2023 13:39 | Pleased to see PoG kick up a little last night. Lets hope that is the end of its recent decline. With a lot of mining stocks we tend to focus on company specific reasons for share price fluctuations, but the underlying commodity is bound to weigh on the sector. For example most lithium stocks look pretty sad these days, most categories of Lithium are down for getting on for 50% this year. | jaynesdad
06/10/2023 18:02 | I know what I prefer | bigglesbingham
06/10/2023 14:23 | Yes too far the other way 🤷a | soulsauce
06/10/2023 14:13 | Yes I actually think their Cyprus presentations were excellent. But there was so much over promising and as said running before walking. Totally opposite to here. We are so far other way ha ha . | bigglesbingham
06/10/2023 13:59 | I am not sure that is strictly true bigglesbingham. They had some very competent and respected geologists. Unfortunately I think they were scuppered by taking on such a big project as Adeline and hitting a brick wall with funding like a lot have. Of course being in bed with a Russian company at the start of the troubles didn't help either. Just a question though bigglesbingham. When was the last time you heard Magellan mentioned 🤔 | soulsauce
06/10/2023 13:32 | Bad management at chf full stop . | bigglesbingham |
