06/10/2023 12:55 | Indeed but the demise of Chf doesn't actually bode well for our own Cyprus assets, although Chf's troubles initially started by trying to run before they could walk. But the issues of large Capex for plant doesn't sit well against small open pit operations and that is why if we are going to ever produce there we need to resurrect the Hellenic deal. | ![]() soulsauce

05/10/2023 13:02 | excellence you are just a deramper. Costs are up of course with inflation as high as it is in Turkey. But earnings are in dollars in the JV, and the $/Turkish Lira has gone from 18.5 to 27.5 in a year so pretty much static in real terms if cost inflation matches the published inflation figures. As Shortarm pointed AAUs profit comes from dividends from the JV which is being reinvested in building the Tavsan plant rather than being distributed and a loan taken out, so profit is down. When in production the profits will emerge pretty much from the word go at Tavsan as I understand it. The share price is whatever the share price is, with hiccups at the Venus IPO and a temporary halt of the Tavsam plant build (the latter now resolved) affecting sentiment. My only debate with shortarms figure of 50,000 ounces per annum is that will be a run rate since production will commence part way through the year at Tavsan and will need ramping up to full production estimated at 30000 ounces, Kiziltepe production looks likely to tail off in 2025. | ![]() jaynesdad

05/10/2023 11:20 | Rising costs - yes, building a new and bigger mine without debt - excellent!.Lower profit - still producing at similar lowest quartile costs but small dividends to AAU as they are BUILDING A NEW AND BIGGER MINE.. Close to 50 000 ounces at group level next year - you should definitely short this one :-D | ![]() shortarm
05/10/2023 11:18 | Ariana has several "arms length" projects, part shares of projects run by other companies, but which of those will announce that they need more cash, and will AAU be obliged to fund? So many variables in this hotch potch company of many hidden parts. | ![]() excellance
