Venus need a lot more than £500k, hence the delayed IPO.

So, Venus on ice, development costs rising, our producing mine has only a couple of years life left, and the price of gold isn't even tracking inflation.

Show me one part of AAU that is sustainable in this environment.

The BoD's zero interest is immaterial. We decide who the BoD is, so perhaps we should let them know that.

They are all so heavily invested here they daren't get reliveved of their positions. Biggles keeps reminding us that Kerim's "wealth / pension" is fully based in AAU, so leaving isn't an option.

Given that, perhaps they should start listening to shareholders.

Yes indeed, where did the 300k go. Is it reasonable for the BoD to hand money out with no explanation as to why, and how it is to be repaid? Add in the 500k to Venus and quite a chunk of money has gone.

xow98, we're all just here for a 'fast buck', I suspect the BoD has zero interest in shareholders expectations.

Who was the 300k loan to associate for (6 months to June) and what is the likelihood of a recovery of the amount advanced?

Cash flows from investing activities

Purchase of gold bullion (1,382)
Earn-In Advances (140)
Purchase of land, property, plant and equipment (66)
Payments for intangible and exploration assets (311)
Purchase of financial assets (231)
Loan granted to associate (300)
Investment income 33

Company provides minimal information. Why we allow the BOD to force us to correspond via YJ is unbelievable.

If the BOD aren't comfortable answering shareholders directly then we should be looking for a different BOD who are comfortable talking to shareholders. Hiding behind PR firms shows a lack of sufficient competencies in the current BOD, in my view.

plas, yes and one could say the rise in pog helped aau get its share price to its highs. around that time or soon after there was also the hope that tavsan and apliki would be following in short order - but that never happened and since then pog has tracked sideways so given aau's own operational delays there unfortunately has been no external momentum to counteract it. anyway its all very tenuous. a large part is also played by the general downturn in sentiment and a risk-off attitude. hoping for better things from aau soon...but the share price keeps dripping away...yuk. roll on tavsan!

Share prices won't rise until we see interest rates begin to fall.

Yes I think we all could Shortarm. This malaise in the miners has been going on far too long and with no end in sight I think we are all getting as low as the share prices.

Good luck with that Shortarm 😁

Looks like a double bottom in the offing. Crazy when last time we were waiting for Tavsan news.
Hopefully it won't fall through 🤞🤞

knoll: your post 19945 - the price of gold on 25th November 2019 was $1456.60!!

"plas, its a period of very poor share price performance, as you point out. and external factors, in the main the pog has disappointed (despite hopes around basel3), so no help from that direction."

Today's share price drop is completely unjustified imho. 6.5% on a 0.1% reduction in market cap? Ridiculous!

Point taken but if management went down that road severe questions would have to a asked as to why Allow such expenditure knowing the delay associated with tarsvan. I personally don't think we will get anywhere near that situation, board is too conservative.

It could be a case of brinkmanship.

Hellenic are sat there with plant rusting in some yard somewhere and decreasing in value and will take more time to bring it back to production ready.
Venus obviously don't have the wherewithal to fund Apliki and plant.
If that is what is going on then who is going to blink first.
But Venus without the plant is a busted flush. I can't believe the city will be any hurry to underwrite another explorer in Cyprus to sink the money into bits of open pittable resource 5yrs+ hence with no means of producing.

I really hope we get some decent semblance of a way forward for Cyprus, including Magellan as as it stands it's just a destraction we have sunk unnecessary money in to. But that is asking too much.
As I said to bigglesbingham, for which he didn't answer (cough) when was the last time Kerim mentioned Magellan 🤷‍a94;️
