In fairness Tarsvan was external problem ipo external market conditions. Can you imagine if there was a gantt chart you'd have nothing but moaning on the board irrespective as to whether it could have been internally managed or not.

We all hope for Apliki, Soul but I question whether that can be achieved through Venus without the latter having a fund raise after the IPO. Of course AAU could go it alone with Apliki, have to watch the results to see how much cash is left! The plant could then be presumably used to process Venus ore also, and its usage charged for - just because AAU is a shareholder in Venus it doesn't mean it cant charge for services provided. AAU is good at the exploration, I would like it to show some attitude in its approach to business as was once threatened.

Agree re Venus JD.
If they can wrestle Apliki back with it's associated plant in the Hellenic deal then Cyprus might take on a better valuation. Without a plant available and thus requiring the large Capex then all the Cypriot assets are questionable to their viability without a large increase in the copper price.
That is where I would like the visibility and frankness. If Apliki isn't coming back then what is the plan for production of our own assets?

Still think we have an upside if there are no more hold ups with Tavsan. Not sure if the market will regard the Venus IPO as anything other than neutral but we will see. Certainly needs something happening there. The halt in the possible share price breakout we saw a few weeks back seems to be the faultering PoG to me. Frustrating share.

The 'immune to debt' position is a double-edged sword. Yes, Ariana is a safer investment than most AIM and minor miners. Against that, it means the BoD can effectively ignore shareholders as they know they will not need to go to them for additional funds in the near future, and, as I and many others have pointed out, that is what is happening.

JD - true. I still prefer the Ariana optimism to a lot of the blatantly false claims made by some of the other miners out there who dangle the hopes of shareholders on a string with unending promises that never come to fruition. At least SOME of Ariana's do. The difference is clearly that AAU has made itself immune to debt that some others feel happy to immerse themselves in. In that respect, we have a very well run company that I feel quite happy to hold for the long term. Obviously, I'm not saying it's perfect, but I'm willing to give it the space it needs to prove itself.

Not sure it will be, but if they miss their deadline they should update the market as to progress

In mining, anticipated deadlines are rarely ever met. Success can only usually be measured after the metal has been sold. This requires a certain degree of patience to be exercised by the investor, preceded of course by a period of comprehensive research into the history and achievements of the company, as well as its financial position. That said, it is always nice to be proved wrong - it would be very nice to see the IPO announced tomorrow

Don't know about anyone else but I suspect that Apliki is a long gone pipe dream now. I hope to be proved wrong.

I think you answered your own question JD but are you surprised is my question?
Kerim can't stick to timelines that's why they rarely use them and why they binned the Gantt charts. I am surprised he gave Q3 for Venus so must have thought they were close.
However, like I have said, the experience of Cmrs and Chf can't be giving the market much confidence on anything Cyprus centric and the surprising fall in the copper price can't be helping.
Unless Apliki is added into the mix the market is not going to be excited by the listing anyway and doubt it will affect our share price much unfortunately.

It disturbs me that we are on the brink of yet another broken timeline promise, namely the 2023 Q3 Venus IPO. This made only a few weeks back. What trust do I have as a shareholder when this happens time and time again?

Not that much in percentage terms when you're producing for 650 dollars an ounce and get silver credits on top!

No real trouble, gold been way lower than this when AAU 4p, it does have an effect at the margins tho.

Looks like Friday for the interims then. Hopefully there will be a good update in there as the 'keep them quiet for a while' Q&A is wearing thin.
