Sorry Soul, thanksamillion. I don't know why but I thought Venus owned a plant already, not that it was attached to Apliki. I'm getting old, must be nearly time for my afternoon nap.

Indeed there may be but Cmrs didn't bother with it either.

But near-by in Cyprus there lies a dismantled processing plant, sure the owners would like to monetise that, just the price to argue about.

I think 35% was mentioned JD post ipo.
Without Apliki I really don't know what Venus hope to gain with the ipo. They are just going to sink funds into ground and achieve similar results to that which has hamstrung Chf and Cmrs, plenty of sporadic open pittable resource but not worth the capex of a new plant, I guess the same may also be true of Magellan hence no desire to further that project.
That was the beauty of the Apliki deal as it came with plant.
I guess when/if copper starts to go ballistic that may change but I don't think there will be much excitement in the city for a Venus listing at the moment without Apliki. Hopefully I am wrong.

Yeah, 58 percent to thirty something.... Apliki rehab cost was 5 million - depends how they split the rehab I guess?

From memory 58% but under the proposed IPO terms the existing shareholders will sell part of their holding in exchange for £3m. Again from memory the AAU holding decreases due to that process from 58% to 35%. I may be wrong.

Think AAU now hold 50+% Venus after loan conversion.

I am not sure about Venus at the moment. At the proposed IPO price I saw a calc somewhere that showed that the value of AAUs holding is likely to result in a small loss after listing. Not too concerned by that, but Apliki isn't going to happen unless Venus can fund it after the IPO fund raise. Does that seem likely? If not then Venus will have to immediately raise funds (Ariana will only be a minority shareholder in Venus, from memory 35% , so cannot simply provide funds unless it increases its equity again - would that force AAU to bid for Venus given it already holds over 30%?). As an alternative scenario AAU could acquire Apliki as its own asset and purchase the mine hardware from Venus to build a plant. That plant could then be made available (on some terms) to process future Venus output. I know I am rambling a bit but I see these possibilities (at least in my dreams). Feel free to call me a deluded fantasist.

Kerim is very conservative with his estimates and he did say early next year? With mining starting later this year..

Yes it should do Shortarm, but not before Xmas I don't think. Maybe I should hibernate for the winter and come spring 2024, things may look better, but knowing AAU's timings it could be much longer.

You would have to think that a second mine tamping up to full production of at least 50% higher than the current mine would allow for well over 3PThen longer term income from Silvova, Salinbas and maybe even Venus if they kiss and make up over Apliki?

claretandbluedave, I so wish you were right and I knew something. Wont be too long until I will have had a longer term involvement with Ariana than I did with my wife. Just hope it doesn't and as disastrously!

You buying again JaynesDad, you must know something we don't. Wish I'd put a lower price on the end of year share price quiz, never going to win any prizes by guessing over 3p.

Correct Shortarm, I can confirm that the 250k was 100% certainly a buy but am not at liberty to tell you why I know!

Good to hear from you Nov31.

Unfortunately volumes across the board are still pathetically low and nothing appears to be changing anytime soon even with good news.

Actual spread doesn't help. Buy 150k shares and you are down £170 instantly and £320 if it ticks down a point. Wears one down eventualy.

I still say that the more likely scenario is that people get interested in AAU when an new RNS comes out, buy in and then, after a few weeks or months during which nothing has happened to the share price, they sell. Rinse and repeat.
