09/12/2021 08:13 | Shortarm, I'm an experienced investor. What I will say is that announcements like those this week clearly flag up that one of the company's biggest priorities is to ensure that the directors benefit, regardless of what the share price does. That, for many investors, means that AAU is a "lifestyle" company and makes it uninvestable. That is unarguable. It does not mean that the company is rubbish, just that the board have made the decision that their returns as board members counts above the returns that others get as shareholders. Other companies, such as AAZ or PXC, take the view that "we're all in it together". At PXC, for example, the directors exercised options last week at 60p, a price the share price is now below. They could have awarded the options at 0.5p, but they didn't. Because its not a lifestyle company. They did here, because it is. And that means perhaps 50% of experienced investors regard AAU as uninvestable. | ![]() donald pond
09/12/2021 07:56 | I'd like to argue with you but you're obviously a strategic advisor to some major big hitters. So I'll just say - Tool end... | ![]() shortarm
09/12/2021 07:55 | You only loose money if you sell below what you paid for it in first place, or company goes bust, can't see either happening here for me, even if it will take a 15% rise to see me blue again, patience is lacking for some, and for others no doubt not a choice. The transfer of wealth here alone will be from those not able to wait to those that can, and those that can have the added benefit of picking up cheap shares from this situation. We pays our money and we takes our chance. | ![]() renniks2016
09/12/2021 07:48 | The main role of an NED chairman with a name like "de Villiers" is to sell the company to the City. He should be given targets to achieve in that respect if he is going to be allowed to take more of the company from existing shareholders for nothing. | ![]() donald pond
09/12/2021 07:45 | Actually it belongs to him! Well, 5.74 percent of it does.I once read that the value of your investments could go down as well as up. It didn't say that if it did it was MDV's fault? If you're unhappy - sell! The price will go down - guaranteed! There's little volume- you'll feel better seeing the price go down and then remove AAU from your watch list because it will go up again! | ![]() shortarm
09/12/2021 07:44 | I think a lot of investors are losing money on a lot of resource type investments. It's pretty dire as far as I can see. Whilst AAU's PR is a bit down to earth, shouting from the roof-tops today probably would make much difference. Needs gold to take on a strong upward trajectory in my opinion to entice some speculation. | ![]() dixi
09/12/2021 07:40 | On 03.04.2014 I bought 200K shares at .75p -they're free when I get the rest of the Dividend! On 09.12.2015 I bought 437,007 shares at .78p - they'll be nearly free!I feel like some kind of thief for making money from an investment when I read this board! | ![]() shortarm
09/12/2021 07:37 | Shortarm, It's not the money. It's the 'I'm all right, Jack' attitude when all the rest of us are losing money on our Ariana investments. | ![]() jaf1948
09/12/2021 07:35 | Don't you think he'll be more interested in the fact his shares are now worth 2.5 million instead of 4.25 million? Mid 20K dividend for me in March - nice for me too! Wonder how much Biggles will get - let's complain about him too!!!I mean he bought some at .86p - that's just not fair is it!!! | ![]() shortarm

08/12/2021 12:27 | Thanks Plasybryn I saw that post on the Lse bb. It certainly highlights how poor the PG note is, as we all know, and as a broker they are doing us no service at all. I know I used to get stick for it but I stand by what I used to call them way back - Manure Gordon and that is being too kind to them. | ![]() soulsauce

08/12/2021 10:48 | Lost my bearings in AAU a bit of late, but we had this from the rns on 12 Oct - A definitive agreement concerning Apliki is expected to be concluded by mid-November. Is this horrendously late or did I miss the a mention of a delay somewhere? | ![]() actonovator

08/12/2021 07:22 | thinking aloud "...we are doing just fine - so leave us alone...." as we are doing fine - we get fairly paid. and you ll get the divi. and thats it is the situation more or less as I see it atm and I look how much of the divi I ll get in the next decade and price AAU just on that factor alone - for the starters. share price can not be relied on much (but it is a factor of course) | ![]() kaos3
