I would say fair value given this conflict probably in the 25-30p area (if they can continue production)

Theprovosts, here's the link to Hardman's AAZ bits:

Always bear in mind these are paid for by the company, so look at them as promotional material. However they do contain a lot of accurate, factual information as well.

When this hit 75p last time the end of the world was happening or so we thought. Are investors now thinking that Azerbaijan will be wiped from the map!

Armenia missile attack on Ordubad region in Nakhchivan testifies that Armenia tries to enlarge geographical scope of conflict...

don't think AAZ will be doing much there at the moment..

The danger lies in how they fall apart, the US case is extremely worrying - and I don't like the trend over the last decades. If the US fails which it is looking increasingly likely then AAZ will be a blemish on everyone's portfolio and pensions. Paradoxically that's why I'm getting more into Gold, Overseas and Asia and pivoting away from U.K./US

Thanks Picardy
A generous reply.

It's hard work dredging up long dormant info.

My greater concern about the posts here is those written by some who
know SFA about AAZ.

Yes Picardy, you are right about Krushev's ethnicity.
He was Russian but born near Kursk, bordering NE Ukraine .

Apologies for that innaccuracy.
However wrt Crimea being 'gifted' to the Ukraine:

""it was somewhat symbolic, somewhat trying to reshuffle the centralized system and also, full disclosure, Nikita Khrushchev was very fond of Ukraine, so I think to some degree it was also a personal gesture toward his favorite republic. He was ethnically Russian, but he really felt great affinity with Ukraine."[5] Sergei Khrushchev, Khrushchev's son, claimed that the decision was due to the building of a hydro-electric dam on the Dnieper River and the consequent desire for all the administration to be under one body.[13] Sevastopol in Crimea being the site of the Soviet Black Sea Fleet, a quintessential element of Russian and then of Soviet foreign policy, the transfer had the intended[citation needed] effect of binding Ukraine inexorably to Russia, "Eternally Together", as a poster commemorating the event of 1954 proclaimed. "

So, not so very far off the mark.
I maintain my "irony" comment fwliw :0)

The growing hope/expectation is that there is a [very] large porphyry deposit
underlying the current mines, operating and prospective. [2 actually, as could be another in Ordubad CA]

Recommend reading the detailed account in the Hardman report of june this year.
Sorry: i have the report [.pdf] to hand but not a link.

Here is introductory summary:

"Potential for two major mineralised “systems”;: We believe that AAZ’s flagship
Gedabek Contract Area could be part of a much bigger epithermal-porphyry
system of gold-silver-copper mineralisation. Exploration work is accelerating at
the untapped Ordubad project – potentially a significant copper-gold porphyry."

Irony in that Khruschev was Ukrainian.

Disintegration of the USSR not on his radar in 1954.

Casual

Might it be that Aliyev expects the Russkies to take charge sooner rather than later; hence, if military still advancing, will pursue territorial reclamation further until either grinds to halt or the Russians decide to intervene regardless?
The horrific toll of war will of course rise accordingly.

Can either side stomach that indefinitely?

The big difference is that Crimea is a region with a majority of Russian citizens and a populace with pro-Russian sentiments and was gifted to Ukraine by the soviet administration Nagorno-Karabakh is a region with pro-Armenian demographics - hence the conflict. Self determination and cultural alignment goes a long way in geopolitics.

Hi Bozzy, (or anyone else who can point me in the right direction).

As a new holder, im looking at the future resources in the pipeline, and focusing on this statement by yourself:

"We're potentially sat on a world-class asset in Azerbaijan, and a strong asset in Ireland. But no-one knows!"

When can we expect some news flow regarding this "potential world class asset"? Am i right in thinking the new resource statement due shortly is focused primarily on expanding the current mine and maybe smaller satellite mines? Im just intrigued by the "world class" statement as my research has led me to solid but smaller resources in the general vicinity. The market seems to be factoring in depleting resources quite heavily, hence new JORC's due imminently should help!

Thanks for any responses.
