It's quite obvious that until the war stops, no matter what good news the company might publish, it won't enhance the value. This remains an excellent company but which is now a bet on how long an ugly little war will last. Plainly the UN is going to do nothing and all are looking to Russia which is caught between a rock and a hard place. Putin must be thinking, 'with friends like Armenia, who needs enemies'.

Notice quite a few 'new faces' popping up with disparaging 'words of wisdom' this morning/lately - no doubt some traders jumping on recent RNs to try and make a few bob shorting the shares - fair enough, I suppose - though no doubt none of them have done any fundamental analysis of the business.

@2SP - I think you asked the question re: tax paid in Q3?

I found this re: Azerbaijan on the PWC website:

"Taxpayers must make advance quarterly tax payments of profit tax by the 15th day of the month following the end of the calendar quarter. Payments are determined either (i) as 25% of tax for the past fiscal year or (ii) by multiplying the amount of actual income through the quarter by a ratio of tax to gross income for the previous year."

Commencement of drilling in Ireland muted for this year, I would expect to give the shares a nice little filip.

I think its a good opportunity why I bought back in. War is already priced in imho. Just need to wait for it to climb up as with all investments.

Poor update and badly managed given prior rns. Still no jorc still no jv confirmation. At least gold price has bailed us out otherwise we would be down 60p I suspect.

Copper now in an uptrend and if the long mooted shortage finally arrives it could spike. I notice gold too has picked up this morning. All considering, AAZ is doing very well.

S_murray, if you care to read the articles all they say is "Azerbaijan accuses Armenia". It is impossible in this conflict to have independent Intel on what happened. We only see the results.

Armenia is denying any military action from the Republic.

The bombs could have come from N-K which is what spokesperson from N-K have said - they said they were targeting military that was shelling them.

The odd thing though casual, the Armenians are knowingly occupying Azeri land which they ethnically cleansed of 800,000 people murdering 30,000 in the process, and yet they constantly play the 'victim' card. The solution is for them to obey the law of the UN, and leave the lands they have stolen. Yet they behave as if the Azeri's were invading Armenia proper. This situation simply demonstrates what a useless organisation the UN is.

It's nice if capital increases year on year, but a one year timetable is not exactly long-term investment.

It's true that the decrease in expected production is offset by the higher prices, but we already knew about the higher gold prices. The blip in production is new information.

Casual, It was all over BBC world news that Armenia hit Ganja with a Ballistic missile and 10 innocent civilians died, I think you can say a BBC journalist being in Azerbaijan is independent as they are also in NK.

I think you need to look further than Armenian media.

@cinoib: trust me everyone invested here expects their capital to increase over 1 year. when that doesn't happen, it means things didn't go to plan and I am sure everyone here is grown up enough to understand that. thanks for clarifying though.

No I don’t see it of value casual. No value at all.
I see it as a cynical attempt to try and spread disquiet amongst investors in a company simply because it pays tax to “the enemy”
Frankly you’d be much better off posting on some of the oil forums if you want either a bigger audience or to target those making bigger contributions. Except you’re a mining investor aren’t you so for some reason they don’t matter?

The share price is down 40% in 2 months and the only news we've really had in that time is the war, which might, together with short term delays caused by hard rock, reduce production by 4-8k oz from what was guidedBut, here's a thought. How much of that shortfall is due to the war and how much to the drilling delay? Because if being delayed by a few weeks in getting to the juicy stuff in the dip down will have a measurable effect, what will the upside be when we are pulling it out for a whole year?

#3Sporrons, I expected the drop and had the Hoover running, a handful of small nibbles ranging from 107p best to 112p, there were not any larger amounts available, but happy with those today and reduced my average holding price again.. :o), in the event the share price does continue south and go sub 100p which is possible if escalations continue there will be another opportunity to add then...

I think you are all being blind sided by the divi. If you took the time to think about it, in the last 12 months the share price has dropped near 33%, the 6% divi paid i that time means your investment has dropped over 5 fold the divi that has been paid. That is bad house keeping in my book. I expect my capital invested to increase over 1 year, not drop 33% and any divi is a bonus. Each to his/her own as they say, but to give someone 33% so s to pick up 6% is not cricket, as they say. Open your eyes before we hit 75p.
