ORPH big drum getting banged again today. Interm results were not that great but then the first 6 months of this year was the turnaround time for the two companies bought, Venn and especially Hvivo, both done successfully now. However the good news is the government are giving free to ORPH the isolation facility at Royal Free Hospital London to expand CV19 challenge studies for a vaccine. Basically we have been given a golden goose for nothing add on top the fact the government are calling ORPH partners now, they are paying us about £40m mind you for challenge studies though, I can only see the gov getting the trumpet out about innovative UK company leading the world in vaccine research being helped by the government. There has to be money in this free publicity.
I am very excited right now! lol

Ah that explains the concentration on the BAMS test in that presentation.

That's a CV19 bingo call I would say.

Avacta Group plc (AIM: AVCT), the developer of innovative cancer therapies and diagnostics based on its proprietary Affimer(R) and pre|CISION(TM) platforms, is pleased to announce that the BAMS assay to detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been launched as a research kit(1) by its partner Adeptrix (Beverly, MA, USA) and the assay has been presented by Bruker Scientific ( Billerica, MA, USA) , a leading mass spectrometer manufacturer, in a new application note(2) .

The bead-assisted mass spectrometry ("BAMS") assay uses the Affimer reagents specific to the SARS-CoV-2 virus to capture the virus spike protein from the sample for rapid detection by mass spectrometry, using the installed base of these instruments in hospitals. Up to one thousand samples per day can be analysed by a single technician using BAMS, making BAMS a very attractive high throughput technique for COVID-19 diagnosis and research...

Dividends will come in November...and confident special dividend in January timeish.
Sad about the fighting, so many people will suffer because of it. Let`s hope they can find a way for peace soon.

In a world of 0% return on money...here remains a bargain for income.

China Nonferrous Gold Limited (AIM:CNG), the gold producer with the operational Pakrut Gold Project ('the Pakrut Project') in the Republic of Tajikistan, today announces its interim results for the six-month period ended 30 June 2020. The results below are available on the Company's website at www.cnfgold.com

Highlights

-- From January to June 2020, a total of 261,268 tons of ore was extracted
from the Pakrut gold mine; 344,652 tons of ore was processed at a grade
of 2.28 g/t; and 17,411.21 oz gold ingots was poured.

-- From January to June 2020, the Group sold 14,839.18 oz of gold ingots,
achieving sales revenue of US$24.33 million.

-- Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Tajikistan on April 30 2020, the
Company has taken appropriate steps and effective measures to ensure that
staff at protected at site. To date operations at the mine site at Pakrut
continue as normal, and there are no confirmed or suspected cases in the
Company in Tajikistan or China.

-- After the outbreak of the Tajikistan epidemic, flights with China have
not been opened, the Company has organised a private chartered flight to
transport around 45 Chinese employees to Tajikistan from China, which has
taken off on 8 August 2020. We therefore remain confident that the annual
internal production target can be achieved.

I mentioned ALBA as one to watch on this thread in August prior to their drilling campaign in Wales

It 3-5 bagged in pretty short order

Can't promise the same with ORR (it has an awful grumpy shareholder base and I don't rule out a placing in short/medium term) but I do think it looks very interesting for medium term investors wanting Gold Junior exposure with the potential catalyst of results from 2 drilling campaigns

The chart is a bit messier short term than ALBA but I think it's basing on a long term view

Anyway they are holding a 'Transatlantic' webinar about the Cameroon 'greenfield' opportunity in front of them TODAY at 5pm

one can imagine a rapid share price rise on very low volume the minute any form of progress towards a ceasefire is announced and there, as investors,,, is the conundrum we face,,,, Cheers Wan :-)

NK has a population of 150,000 and it seems what has kicked this off is Armenia moving the notional capital to a town of historic importance for Azeris. Let's hope it quietens down but the global risks seem out of proportion to what is at stake

Wan it really doesn’t matter how low it dips, it’s where it goes to long term, no way in a gold appreciating world will it stay low, the politics will play out and yes somebody loses lives in such circumstances; fortunately AAZ and their employees are a long way from conflict areas, so will be unaffected bar day to day share price movements.

I’ll go even more overweight if gets near that £1 mark, we will indeed see.

Gold at 1884
Silver at 23.70
Brent at 40.58

AAZ - conflict continues, so, one can foresee further share price weakness Rb the longer it goes on... when to buy depends upon our individual situations,, for me, I have my LT investment batch to its max, with my trading batch in cash,,,, but, I have decided not to buy anymore unless there is a really big dip and I'm talking way down.... we shall see, GLA Cheers Wan :-)
