They already are doing yield control.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.

Whether they explicitly say so or otherwise is irrelevant.

The USA cannot afford market interest rates in its national, corporate or personal debts.

Fact.

Imagine the market believing the Fed that they wont do yield curve control eventually

Presumably the FED intentionally not guiding Yield Curve Control at this stage so as to create a little crisis in the markets .. they need a wobble in the markets so they can respond with more QE (which is off course already coming in the next round of the virus response).Maybe the small bounce in DXY is still on at this juncture.I think we've had A & B of the Gold drop .. now, C should go below A but, the uptrend still firmly intact, afaiac.

Was there a reason for the fall in the price of gold this afternoon ? Still falling this evening. Now near 1950. Nothing too dramatic i know but wondered if i had missed something please ? ... still getting lower .. i really must have missed something.?!!

I agree with Kloster (29046) that when they start mining high-grade material from the new underground entrance that could be a game changer. They haven't trumpeted it - perhaps that is their naturally cautious style.

I wonder if this reticence together with long awaited news on the contract extension (albeit they have said it should be 'routine') is holding us back.

Thanks to Matt for all his hard work and insight on this.

"hauling out productive payloads from the get-go"

i.e. the anticipated Q4 production Matt.

the 'excitement' level on the thread does not yet seem apparent to me but, I think it soon will be

nice one 2sp.
With the vertical drilling and the more recent fan drilling, I'm sure they have mapped out the 'way in' so to speak .. ideally intersecting rich ores asap in the process so they are hauling out productive payloads from the get-go.
Once we get in amongst it then it will be a continual case of further drilling for grade control & to keep evolving the underground 3-D model.
I assume we will soon be beefing up the underground loader and hauler fleet

Klosters/Matt

"....the contiguous Gedabek/Gadir orebody"

This profile shows something of what lies at the East/SE end of the orebody:

Taken from the resource report spun out of the 2018 main pit JORC; not changed conceptually since then.
Seems to be a 75m wide slice of the cake from the SE [Main headwall] to the NW.

Note how the copper is clustered up to the NW while the gold is concentrated to the
SE and heading underground, beneath the stepped main headwall shown.

The new tunnel to access this [and adjacent] gold has its portal out to the left
of the graphic, beyond its limit.
Imagine that is extended to the left [SE], then some way down the hill at back of the headwall, below where the main access route passes, there is the portal.
Hope Matt agrees with this.
I imagine the ~500m tunnel will decline to intercept the orebody close to top of that cluster of 3 DD samples shown below the foot of the headwall.
Whatever, the sooner the better!!

btw, i suppose that the samples shown that reside above the ground profile [grey]
are those already excavated over past years. Bear in mind the 'shell' shown is about as 2 years ago.

Occurred to me that not all here will have read the May 2021
Presentation AAZ put out on their website.

It is well presented and informative; an excellent, succinct summary:

That the latest Bundesbank auction of 30 year bonds at a -ve yield today
was oversubscribed came as no surprise but i am struck by the buys tendered
being 3 times the available bonds.
Suppose the ECB might bag most of them, but if so, why would it subscribe for
more than what is on the table?
That leaves, at conceivable minimum, buys from others at twice the available bonds.
Dunno how many were placed but regardless, that's an incredibly negative
statement as to expectations for any kind of sustained recovery in the EU economy.

30 years ffs.....
? these are being bought with a far shorter trading horizon in view ?
Some kind of hedge?

I bailed on HUM this morning wasn't a large amount and got out at par for me. It will probably recover but it might not I am now going to concentrate on safer bets in gold as if I am using gold miners as a hedge for world wide economic problems having gold in dodgy jurisdictions may not be a good idea. Looks like PUR and PXC are going to get my HUM money.
An interesting share I am following in pharma after placing a small punt on it, MXCT. It wont stop rising, oh er missus just for you MF. It is going to be listing on the NASDAQ soon which is logical since its based in Maryland, no idea why it listed in the UK to start with. It is another company with its own platform and its looking at cancer as well. I am assuming the move to the NASDAQ will see a further rerating or maybe fuelling the current one in anticipation.... Am going to dig a bit more before going in deep but thought I would post it here as it is motoring just now.

I agree kloster .. been waiting for a long, long, long time to go underground into what we now know to be the contiguous Gedabek/Gadir orebody.

Our photos at the top of the thread show what we might reasonably expect to be present.

Little wonder the company has been so, so busy at the rear of the OP backwall to enable this underground access. Very exciting step forward. Wish I could be there to witness it
